WE PROJECT/ ST VINCENT DI PAUL YOUTH SOCIETY 
Attention All Students: The meeting for the WE Project is canceled for today Again the meeting for the WE Project is canceled for today. We will meet next Tuesday at lunch. Please listen for that announcement next week.

CALLING ALL GRADE 12 WRITERS

The University of Windsor is inviting Grade 12 students to enter two writing competitions. 
The first contest is open to all Grade 12 students in Windsor-Essex. Students may submit up to 5 poems and/or a work of fiction to the Homer F. Plante Creative Writing Contest for a chance to win a prize of $175. 

The W.O. Mitchell Entrance Prize in English Competition is open only to students entering the first of any English Major or Joint Honours program at the University of Windsor. Students are invited to submit one piece of written work (fiction, non-fiction, poetry or drama) for a $1000 entrance prize to be applied toward tuition. 

Submission deadlines for both contests is April 30th. All entries are to be mailed to the University of Windsor. Please see the Literary Laser Board or Mrs. Koppeser for more information.

HOMEWORK CLUB

Are you looking for a place to get some work done before going home for the night?  Do you need help with completing homework or assignments?  Do you have group work or a project or ISU to work on?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then come out to homework club on Wednesday night.  Homework club is in room 151 from 3-4 on Wednesday evenings.
If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Cabana in room 151.

E-LEARNING SUMMER SCHOOL

E-learning Summer School courses are now open for registration. Only online courses are available at this time. Any students interested in registering  must make an appointment to see their guidance counsellor.

FANDOM CLUB

happy spring equinox lasers - as the warm weather returns so does the united fandom club - members new and old are welcome at the first 2018 meeting this Thursday at lunch in room 217 - discussion includes upcoming events like the ``Ready player One`` film and ``May the fourth be with you`` . See you in room 217 at lunch on Thursday.

Tryouts for the track and field team begin  today after school . Meet in the gym at 3:00 ready to start.

Any boy who is 14 or 15 and wants to play soccer, please print your full name and homeroom number on the sign up on the sheet outside room 221 this week.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
