Monday's Announcements

COPA DI RAYO LASER The Copa di Rayo continues with the first set of cross-over games this  Wednesday, November 29th . The first match of the day will see 2-G-1-C against Yousif and the 10's at  11:42 AM ; followed by Free Stylers taking-on S.O.P.'s at  11:55 AM.  If there are any concerns see Mr. Castagna. GIRLS HOCKEY There will be a brief meeting for members of the girls hockey team in Room 154 at the beginning of lunch today. See you there! WRESTING The St. Joe's wrestling team competed in their first tournament of the season producing some excellent results.  Edward Beshiri earned a gold medal.  Jordan Maadi, Sarah Beshiri, Miranda Iucaboni and Braeden Bereault earned silver medals.  Bronze medals went to Zariah Wilson and Kat Muscedere.   Great work team! BEST BUDDIES Attention all members of Best Buddies, there will be a mandatory meeting at lunch on  Monday, November 20  in room 153 to discuss November and December events. If there are any issues please see Mr. Castagna in CORE Services. JUNIOR BOYS FOOTBALL Attention all members of the Junior Boys Football team, uniform return and pasta lunch will occur  Tuesday, November 21  in room 261. Any player who does return their uniform by this date (including those who quit the team prior to competing the season) will be issued detentions thereafter. JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL This is a reminder for those trying out for Junior Boys' Basketball Tryouts are:  Thurs Nov 16,   3 - 4:30  and  Fri Nov 17,   8 - 9:30. BOYS HOCKEY Because some players were missing at Tuesdays tryout the final roster will not be posted until  Monday  morning. A list of players will be posted for Thursdays Exhibition game for  3pm  at Tecumseh arena this afternoon in room 160. Players will be excused at  2:15 . SINGING PRACTICE ATTENTION SINGERS! This is a reminder of  tonight's  practice, after school, in room 256. See you there! MONTREAL TRIP Attention all those who are still interested in signing up for the Montreal trip. The last day to bring in your signed permission forms will be  this Thursday . Please bring signed forms to room 203 at lunch.

VOLLEYBALL FAN BUS Attention volleyball fans: if you are interested in watching the junior boys volleyball team take on Chatham Kent IN Chatham at the 2017 SWOSSAA finals, you can join us on the fan bus! There are 13 seats still available on a first come first served basis! For $5 you will leave period 4 at  2 pm , and get a ride there and back on the bus to watch the game at  5:30 . We will also stop for dinner on the way home to return at St Joe’s at approx.  8:30-9pm. Remember, all seats are being sold on a first come - first served basis. Bring your $5 to Mrs. Fetter in the Phys. Ed. office at lunch or as soon as possible! At this time there are 13 seats left. SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Attention senior girls volleyball players-  Practice and tryouts will continue  tonight  after school. Meet at the Phys. Ed office by  3:15 . JUNIOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL Hey Lasers, Be sure to congratulate your Junior Boys Volleyball Team!  Yes, you heard it right; they beat St Anne's last night to win the semi-final game!  It took 4 sets and lots of hard work. But our strong defence and consistent playing won the match!  Next up is Massey,  TOMORROW  at  4pm  at our gym!  That is  Thursday, November 9th at 4 o'clock  in our gym. Mark your calendars to come out to cheer for your junior boys in the WECSSAA FINALS! Go Lasers!! Also -would Period 2 Teachers please dismiss the junior boys volleyball players from their class at this time to meet in the gym for a quick meeting.  Again, thats all jr volleyball players to the gym.   Coach Fetter says thanks! Monday's Announcements

BOYS HOCKEY Attention boys hockey players, there will be a practice at WFCU at 3:40 on Tuesday  and an exhibition game on Thursday, at 3:40 . There will be a list on Mr. Sok’s door, room 160 Wednesday morning for the boys who will be playing in Thursdays game. This roster that will be posted is NOT, I repeat, is NOT the final roster. The final roster will be posted on a later date. CHRISTMAS TALENT SHOW Any students interested in performing for the Christmas Arts Showcase are asked to sign-up on the drama room door (room 163).   You can sing, dance, play an instrument, recite poetry, do magic, or any other talent that you may have.   This will be the last talent show for this semester so don't miss out. Despite challenges in the week leading up to the race, Nicole competed against the "best of the best", and had a very impressive under 35 finish. You made the team, and all of St. Joe's proud! DANCE TEAM This is a reminder that Dance Team meets after school  Tuesday’s  and Thursday’s until  4:30 . The $75 portion of the entry fee is past due.  Please see Miss Donais with your fees ASAP. STAFF LUNCH Attention staff:  There will 2 hot soup in the staff room for lunch at a dollar per bowl, chicken noodle and a hearty meat or vegetarian. This will continue until October 26  when we will have our first staff luncheon on Friday 27. The following Tuesday, October 31  (Chez Soks) the staff dining lounge, room 160 will be open Tuesday  to Friday until Christmas. We will feature 2 soups, a main course, a special of the day and desserts. Some of the days we could be closed. Check the website for upcoming menus.
