Wednesday's Announcements

WRESTLING A reminder to all who are interested in wrestling this year: Practices begin tomorrow after school. Wear your workout clothes and wrestling shoes or clean running shoes. No experience is necessary. Remember to pick up your forms and waivers from Mr. Menard or Mrs. Carpio-Sementilli in Room 162, and return them signed asap. You will become faster. You will become stronger. You will become tougher, both physically and mentally. AAARRGH!!! You're gonna love it! See you tomorrow on the mats. UNITED WAY Attention All Staff: United Way forms and donations are due today. Please bring forms and donations to Miss Touma in Room 155. I will be taking all forms to the board office by Friday, November 2. BEST BUDDIES Reminder to all members of Best Buddies, we will be meeting in Room 110 at the beginning of lunch today for this month's event. If there are any concerns please see Mr. Castagna in CORE Services, room 151.   SCHOLARSHIPS Just a reminder that due dates for October scholarships are coming to an end and the November scholarships are quickly coming up!  In particular, the TD Scholarship and the Harold Hewitt Scholarship will be due very soon. Make sure to check out scholarships that may be offered by your employer, or your parent's employer, your sports league, or a club you belong to.  Local chapters of national civic organizations, local credit unions or banks may also offer awards.  CURLING TEAM Laser Curling Team Members! SWIM TEAM To all members of the swim team ––  "on land" training will start Monday, October 29th after school in the weight room.  We will start RIGHT at 3pm, so be changed and ready to work!  This is not mandatory, but available to any swimmers who want to add training and workouts. Future training dates will be posted in the St. Joe's Swim Team Google Classroom. HALLOWEEN FOR HUNGER Attention All Students: Our annual Halloween for Hunger event will begin Monday, October 29. We are asking that you donate $2.00 to receive a dress up pass to be able to wear your Halloween Costumes to school on Wednesday, October 31.  Collections will be done in your period 1 classes and we will be collecting Monday to Wednesday, October 29th to October 30th. All of the money collected will be divided up and given to the United Way as a student donation and to the St. Vincent De Paul Society to help feed the hungry in our community.  Teachers, envelopes will be in your mailbox

COATS FOR KIDS The Social Justice Club will be collecting coats this week for our Coats for Kids campaign. If you have any gently used coats, snow pants, hats, mitts or scarves, please consider donating them to families in need in our community. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT COMPANY PROGRAM Hey Lasers! Have you ever thought of creating your own business? Do you have any great product ideas? Do you want to make new friends, gain experience and knowledge of the business world, and… make money? The Junior Achievement company program encompasses all of these aspects and more! The 18-week program takes place every Monday from 6:30-9:00 pm at Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex from October 29th to April 8th. ONTARIO DAY Every October The Children Aid Societies across the province work with their communities to raise awareness about the rights of children, youth safety and well-being, and the responsibility of adults and community services to help children and youth who need support. On Ontario Day, Thursday October 24, we join together to celebrate this community that cares for kids. We are asking that all staff and students wear purple on that day to show their support.  Students are to wear their uniform bottoms. Please join us and wear purple on Thursday, October 24.
