Thursday' Announcements

ATTENTION GRADS
Each year, St. Joe’s is proud to offer over 20 scholarships and bursaries to our graduating students donated by friends and sponsors of our school. A committee of staff members and parents will select the winners and announce the names at graduation.

You’re eligible for these awards if you:
  • are a graduating student who will be in College or University in September
  • have a pretty solid academic record 
  • have been involved in the life of the school and the community.
Come into the Guidance Office and follow the directions to request an application.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, April 26th.

YOUTH GROUP OPPORTUNITY 

Most Precious Blood Church is hosting an awesome opportunity called "Alpha". It is a teen youth group series that includes dinner, videos, discussion and fun. Sessions are on Monday evenings from 6:15-8:30 in Most Precious Blood Church hall, beginning next Monday, April 9. If you are interested in attending or have any questions, please see Mrs. Walls in Campus Ministry.

MODEL UN DEBATE

Will the following students please see Ms. Touma immediately after school today in room 155. You need to pick up the information booklets for the debate at the University of Windsor, your permission forms and finalize the councils you want to be on.

FANDOMS CLUB
The united fandom meeting today will be cancelled. Regular meetings resume next week on Thursday - reminder the fandom meeting at lunch today is cancelled

BOYS BASEBALL 

There is a BOYS BASEBALL practice today after school at 3:00pm.  Meet in phys ed hallway and we will decide then whether practice is indoors or outside.  Please see Miss McGuire in rm 206 if you are unable to make practice, as there is mandatory WECSSA paperwork to sign if you wish to play in first game next week!  Thank you!  

SENIOR BOYS HOCKEY

This is your last chance to redeem yourselves. There are outstanding money, team jerseys and practice jerseys that belong to the school and some belong to Mr Sok’s, red lacrosse jerseys.( we know who you are) Please bring these in ASAP or detentions and suspensions could be handed out.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
