This week we are inviting all staff and students who are able to bring in donations of nonperishable food items. Donations will be collected from homeroom classes immediately after morning Prayer next week. Anyone who does not have a homeroom or is offsite period 1 may bring donations to the Chapel at any time.  We will be presenting the donations to Fr. Rob at our Thanksgiving Mass on Friday. LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS LORAN SCHOLARSHIPS The Loran Scholars Foundation is now accepting applicants There is no limit to the number of applicants from a single school and students are invited to apply on their own.  Eligibility: clearly demonstrate character, service and leadership a minimum cumulative average of 85% hold a Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status going to one of the Universities participating in this scholarship. It will be a half dress down, so make sure to bring your spirit with your best green top and uniform bottoms.  TERRY FOX WALK Hey Lasers, our school-wide walk for Terry Fox will be held on Thursday, September 29th. We are collecting $2 donations in all period 1 classes, up until the day of our event!  Let’s keep Terry's dream alive, bring $2 to your period 1 class, and help raise money for cancer research! Once again, if you are eligible because you purchased a dress down pass, this Thursday is the dress down day. JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER There will be a Junior Girls Soccer Practice today after school. Please meet in front of the Phys. Ed. BADMINTON Our Junior Men's Team competed at the City Championships on Friday. Marcus Lam won the bronze medal at that event! Over the weekend, the team competed at WECSSAA in Leamington, where Marcus placed 4th in the Men's Singles division, and Allen Trifan & Brooke Lessard-Marshall won a Silver Medal.  SHOW ME YOUR LUNCH CONTEST All week long we will be running the show me your lunch contest in the atrium.  A great habit you can adopt to help the environment is to only pack reusable containers in your lunch, and try to reduce your waste where you can. Plastic sandwich bags and wrappers just add to the world's ongoing plastic waste problem.   If you can show us that the majority of your packed lunch is tupperware and other reusable containers, we will give you a prize!   JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Last night, the Junior Girls' Volleyball team faced off against the reigning champs - Villanova.  The lasers lost the first two sets, but had a big win in the third set despite being down 6 players!  The lasers lost the fourth set, but they put up a great fight!  Congratulations to the Junior Girls' Volleyball team for their commitment and dedication this season! SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL The Sr. Boys dropped a hard fought game last night against Lajeunesse 58-54. The team battled back from a 12 point deficit and had opportunities late in the game but came up just short. Michael Ramos led the way with 22 points. Abbas Komeiha and Shadrack Etiene set the tone defensively while Denin Lual and Buom Martin held a block party under the hoop. The boys finish their regular season tonight at Villanova @ 4:00PM. JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL Yesterday the Jr Boys basketball team defeated the Catholic Central Comets 47-19! Offense was led by team captain, Bryson Vonella, who had 15 points. Defense was led by King Maingot, who had 6 rebounds- TJ Burns and Raymond Hebert III each contributed 5 rebounds as well. Great team win boys! Good luck on Friday vs. Villanova!
