ANNOUNCEMENTS


CHRISTMAS SHOWCASE

YOU’RE Invited to watch our “Christmas Showcase” on Wednesday Dec 14th 2022. There will be a Period 4 whole class buyout for $2 per student, contact Mrs Chiandussi to reserve your spot - spaces are limited!


There will be an evening performance of our "Christmas Showcase" for all to watch starting at 7 pm . Cost for the evening performance is $5 -  Kids 12 and under are free! Come out and support the Music & Dance Department


POETRY IN VOICE

The annual Poetry in Voice Recitation Contest at St. Joseph's will be in-person again. The contest is open to any student in the school - grades 9 to 12. There are three streams - English (2 English poems), Bilingual (1 French and 1 English poem) & French (2 French poems). For the past 5 years, St. Joseph's has had students at the semi-finals and Nationals. 

For the school competition, students choose two poems from the website.  https://www.poetryinvoice.ca Students must memorize both poems and be prepared to recite them at the school competition in mid-January 2023.

CHRISTMAS BAKE SALE


It's that time of year...the Business Leadership class will be holding their annual competitive Christmas Bake Sale on Thursday, Dec. 15 at lunch in the atrium. There will be 6 groups all competing for your hard earned money. Come on out and prepare to have all of your sweet tooth cravings satisfied! 


WRESTLING TEAM


Last Saturday our Laser Wrestling Team Competed for the first time this season. It was packed! It was intense! It was quite an experience! With more than 80 matches in one day, our Lasers competed against teams from all over Southwestern Ontario like Woodstock, Chatham, Sarnia, London, and St Thomas, as well as other teams from Windsor and Essex County. Everyone fought well and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. Gold medals were won by Jaclyn Iacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, and a silver medal was won by David Ferro. Congratulations Laser Wrestlers! 


BOYS BASKETBALL


Come out and cheer on your Jr and Sr Boys basketball team's home opening games vs Villanova tomorrow Tuesday Dec 13th. The Jrs tip off at 4:00PM and the Srs follow at 5:30PM.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
