Wednesday's Announcements

UNITED FANDOMS CLUB Reminder to Fandom Club that the Stress Relief Event is after school today in the conference room and a practise is being held at lunch to day in room 217 Shout out to Aidan, Josh and Emma GRADS Any students interested in attending St.Clair College in the fall will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from the College after their exams on Thursday.  Stop by the St. Clair College display, located in the atrium, and have your last minute questions answered before the February 1st deadline. BLOOD DRIVE The next blood drive will take place on Tuesday Feb. 12 in our gym. We surpassed our goal last time--let's aim to get even more donations this time around! Sign ups will begin the first week of semester 2, in the atrium at lunch.

COPA DI RAYO This week's Copa di Rayo match on Wednesday at lunch is: LBFC vs Stokes United, starting promptly at 11:42 AM JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL There is quick meeting at lunch outside the staff room area at the beginning of lunch to pick up your hoodies.  Congratulations goes out to the Junior girls volleyball team for ending regular season play with a win against General Amherstburg!  CURLING TEAM The Laser curling team was in action yesterday at Roseland in a match against Kingsville in the last game before the exam break. The Lasers started off strong with points in both the second and third ends, but Kingsville kept applying pressure and were able to comeback with scores in the last two ends.  Due to time constraints, the game was cut short and the final score was  St Joes 3, Kingsville 7. The Mock Trial team will meet today at lunch in room 257.  There will be a meeting for all Prom Committee members today, at lunch, in Room 154. CURLING TEAM Our Lasers fought tough in their game with Holy Names yesterday at Beach Grove Curling Club.  Our boys came back from a 4 point deficit in the fourth end, then stole 3 more points in the 5th and 7th ends to a narrow loss of 6 to 4. Action will resume on Monday when they face the Kingsville Cavaliers at Roseland.  Good Luck Lasers! BOYS HOCKEY The boys started off slow being down 2-0 after the first period but but capitalized on their chances in the second to tie the game with a goal by Matti Dimoff and Jacob Prsa who score unassisted while killing a penalty. Micheal Flay and Mitch MacPhearson assisted on Matti Dimoffs goal. Trevor Heslop had a strong game in goal to help secure the tie. Our next game is Tuesday against General Amherst. The boys will be dismissed at 1 p.m. Our last game of the regular season will be against St. Annes on Thursday at the WFCU at 3:40.
