CROSS COUNTRY A reminder to all members of this year's cross country team. Our annual Christmas party is this Monday, December 17th. Please meet in room 259 after school. Don't forget to bring a wrapped $10 gift and $5 for pizza. BOYS BASKETBALL Last night, your senior boys won on the road vs. Lajeunesse 72 to 40. We were led by a great team effort on defense. Our next game is Tuesday, December 18th in our home gym at 4pm vs. Riverside. Let's fill the stands to cheer on our boys! Go lasers.  SWIM TEAM On Tuesday, the Laser Swim Team participated in an Invitational Meet at the Windsor International Aquatic Centre. They continue to make great strides as a team and by improving their individual finish times. SCHULICH SCHOLARSHIP Attention to all grade 12 students going into STEM careers...St Joseph's high school is looking for nominees to represent our school. To be eligible for this prestige scholarship you must be applying for a STEM programme at an approved University in Canada for the fall of 2019. Unfortunately, the University of Windsor is not one of the designated schools. Students must self-nominate to be considered. Please see Miss Cuderman in guidance for further information. The Princess Ball of Essex-Kent is looking for student volunteers to assist with this event.  The Ball takes place on Saturday, January 26 from 12-4 pm.  There are numerous tasks that need to be filled by volunteers.  This event supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada.  If you are interested in more information please see Ms. Gilbert in the guidance office TODAY. STUDENT COUNCIL There will be a brief but important meeting at the beginning of lunch today in Room 154 to pick names for Secret Santa. BOYS BASKETBALL Last night, both our junior and senior boys won their first game at Sandwich. Great job by both teams for coming back on the road and winning. CREPE SALE It's crepe day! Everyone that has purchased a ticket for crepes needs to check their tickets for their designated time to join us in the library, bring your tickets for a great time. MOCK TRIAL There will be a brief, but important meeting for all students interested in participating in this year's mock trial competition today at lunch in room 257. What is a mock trial, you ask? It is an imitation trial where you get to take on the role of either a lawyer or a witness and compete against many other teams from the area.  No experience is necessary, you only need the willingness to try something new, the commitment to meet once a week and the desire to learn about the legal system and how trials work in a real courtroom setting. Last Saturday, teams from Toronto, Montreal, and all over southwestern Ontario came out to compete at the University of Western in London. With hundreds of wrestling matches throughout the day, our team fought well, had an exciting experience, and came home cheerful and exhausted.
