Friday's Announcements

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER A reminder to members of the Senior Boys' Soccer team that there is a mandatory meeting today in room 153 at the beginning of lunch. JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER Just a gentle reminder to junior girls soccer team to return their uniforms to Mrs. Loebach in guidance. OTAKU Reminder to any fans of manga and anime that there will be shows, debates, trivia and prizes in the LCC after school today. Come and share your fan art, fan fiction or just fandom of the Otaku world. GRADS Grade 12's heading to university in the Fall, your offers of admission MUST be accepted by Monday, June 3.  All offers must be accepted through OUAC.  If you have any questions regarding this please, see your guidance counsellor as soon as possible. LUNCH BASKETBALL Attention senior laser lunchballers. Playoff tournament bracket is SET! Schedule is posted outside the phys ed office. Time to crown a CHAMP!!! Games are Tuesday and Wednesday.

TRACK AND FIELD There will be a track and field meeting today for those going off to OFSAA regionals in the Fitness Center. Please get there as soon as possible.  OTAKU Before the madness of June arrives and all the stress of exams ... OTAKU fans are invited to an event in the LCC afterschool THIS friday - the United Fandom club will be hosting an Asian flavoured event with presentations and trivia on all that is  MANGA and ANIME - lots of OTAKU prizes can be won and good arguments to be had over the plot points of classic works by Studio Ghibli, Naruto, full metal alchemist, fairy tail, Kpop and much more. STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS A reminder for anyone interested in running for next year's Student Council that all forms are due to Campus Ministry by 3pm today in order to be eligible. APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES If you are a graduating student and have an interest in a Tool and Die Apprenticeship, there is an opportunity waiting for you.  Manor Tool & Die, Sigma Engineering and Lakeshore Stamping of the Max Die Group are looking for young people interested in a career in the Tool and Die Industry.  If you would like to know more about this program please see Ms. Gilbert in guidance as soon as possible. TRACK AND FIELD Attention Laser Nation!!! We have results from the South Western Ontario track Championships. The following athletes finished in the top 5 in their events and so are moving on to the Ontario West Championships next week.  Here is the breakdown of the 21 qualifiers: Alessia Bozzi moves on in both javelin and discus. Madison Gaudreau and Jonathan Lariviere both move on in discus after claiming silver medals! Sariah Cesar moves on in the long jump. Levi Johnson had a great meet, including a VERY fast leg in the 4x400m relay, but only moves on in the 100m and 200m Victoire-Marie Mulumba moves on in the 200m The junior boys 4X100m relay team of Levi Johnson, Daniel pahuyo, josh maadi, Raffi lavilla, and Steven Miletic took Silver and move on  The junior girls 4X100m relay team of Averie Burton, Sophia Sladic, haily Meloche, Kathryn Rosete, and Mya schram move on with a 4th place finish. SENIOR BOYS SOCCER Tonight at 7:00 PM at Holy Names, your Senior Boys' Soccer team battles for glory in the WECSSAA 3A Finals against Villanova. Please come and support your team in their effort to do our school proud. Admission into the game will be $2 per student and $4 per adult. JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER Last night the junior girls soccer team ran their unbeaten streak to three games with a 5 to 1 victory over Sandwich.  Grace Vinuya led the offence with three goals while Daria Facchinato added a pair.  Outstanding determination and play was given by Mary Marku, Riley Canjar, Ashley Livingston and Penelope Zikantas.  Overall great effort put in by the entire team.  Well done ladies!! ATHLETIC AWARDS ASSEMBLY If you participated in a sport at St. Joseph in the 2018-2019 year, you and your parents are invited to be recognized at the Athletic Awards Assembly on June 4th. BLOOD DONOR CLINIC Did you miss the last blood drive because of the weather, or feel like giving the gift of life again? Good news! Canadian Blood Services is offering transportation to their clinic on  Thursday  June 6 for 20 students. The bus will pick up here at 10:40, and bring you back to school once donations are complete. Please sign up using the sheets on the Literacy office door in the LCC. See Ms. Flynn with any questions.   GRADS ATTENDING THE UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR IN THE FALL Gr. 12's, if you are attending the University of Windsor in the fall and would like assistance creating your schedule, please sign-up with Mrs. Ponic in the guidance office, TODAY.  A representative from the University will be here tomorrow, May 23 at 9 AM to assist students with this process.  You must sign-up in guidance to attend.     SUMMER JOB Any grade 11 or 12 students looking for a summer money and experience? GRAD DISCLOSURE FORM Graduates are reminded to please fill out the DISCLOSURE form on the graduation website. This is in addition to the information form that you filled in when paying your fee earlier this year. This will indicate what your plans are next year, and this will be read when you walk the stage.
