THURSDAY, MARCH 31 '22 ANNOUNCEMENTS

  TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility (also called TDOV, Transgender Day of Visibility) It is an annual event occurring on March 31 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society. Friendly reminder: All students are welcome to the STJ GSA meetings every Thursday at lunch. Email Mr. Parent or Mr. Barron for more info.  CELEBRATE WORLD AUTISM DAY On Saturday, April 2nd we celebrate World Autism Day to show our support for people on the spectrum. At St. Joseph's, we will celebrate World Autism Day on Friday, April 1st.  To celebrate, students are invited to wear tie dye tops with uniform bottoms on Friday, April 1st.   If you do not have a tie dye top to wear, please be in full uniform and you can celebrate in spirit! JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL Yesterday the Jr Boys basketball team defeated the Catholic Central Comets 47-19! Offense was led by team captain, Bryson Vonella, who had 15 points. Defense was led by King Maingot, who had 6 rebounds- TJ Burns and Raymond Hebert III each contributed 5 rebounds as well. Great team win boys! Good luck on Friday vs. Villanova! DIASPORA CLUB MEMBERS Diaspora Club Leaders who purchased a sweater are reminded to come to Room 254 today at lunch with their sweaters in order to take a picture for the Yearbook. SENIOR BOYS SOCCER There will be a meeting in room 153 today after school.  Practice will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week. TRACK AND FIELD Track and Field sign-ups are outside the phys. ed office. We will have a short meeting in the gym at today at lunch and will start practicing this week as well! JOLLY JAR RAFFLE Today is the last day to purchase your raffle ticket in your period 3 class!  Simply donate $2 for each raffle ticket you wish to purchase and make a guess on how many Jolly Ranchers are in the "Jolly Jar!" STJ YOUTH TROOP On behalf of the STJ Youth Troop, the fundraiser to raise funds for cancer research and families affected by it runs until Friday! To help make a donation, you can purchase a ticket in your period 3 class.  Simply make a guess as to how many jolly ranchers are in the jar (which is placed in the display case beside Principal Desjardin’s office). Each ticket to make one guess costs $2 and you can purchase as many as you want! JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL Last night the Jr Boys basketball team took a hit to Riverside, making their season 1-1 Keep your head up guys! Practice tonight at 3pm and a game Tuesday vs Holy Name here in our house! SENIOR BOYS SOCCER Spring is coming fast, now is the time to sign up for senior boys soccer.   There is a sign up sheet posted outside the phys-ed office.   Please scan the QR code and fill out the form.   There will be a meeting at lunch time on Thursday March 10th in the learning Commons.  TAMPON TUESDAY This is a reminder to bring in those menstrual products to your 3rd period class before March 7th! You can receive rewards such as a Subway lunch, Airpod Pros, Dressdowns, and a variety of gift cards. 3rd period teachers a reminder to please use the class charts that were provided to you so that you can indicate which students have donated. This is how we’ll be keeping track of who gets the dress downs and how many raffle tickets the student that donated gets.

  JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL Last night the Jr boys basketball team kicked off their season with a victory against the Herman Green Griffins!   Bryson Vonella had 10 points for the Lasers, along with Freddy Kanso, Ben Kramer, and CJ Eziefule putting up 7 points each.  Great team effort boys and Good luck tomorrow vs Riverside!  TAMPON TUESDAY This is just a reminder to bring in your donations for Tampon Tuesday to your 3rd period class.
