Tuesday's Announcements

St. Clair College College Information Program will be held at St. Clair College on Friday, October 21 from 9:30 - 12. If you are interested in attending this informative event you must clear your attendance through the Attendance Office as you would for any excused absence. If you have any questions please see your guidance counsellor. CURLING Attention all lasers interested in curling! If you are interested in learning more about curling there will be a meeting in room 202 at lunch on Thursday, October 20th no experience necessary! Wayne State   Grade 12s-   Please be advised that Wayne State University will be visiting our school at lunch outside of the Guidance office on     Thursday October 20th T his date is new to your post-secondary calendar of events. University of  Windsor Attention university bound students. The University of Windsor will be at St. Joseph's on Tuesday, October 18th in the cafetorium during p. 2 for a presentation.  If you do not have a period 2 grade 12 university class you can sign up in the Guidance office to attend.  Students on spare are welcome to join without signing up. School Play Attention all students! Unfortunately, the auditions for the school play have been postponed until further notice.  Please stay tuned to the morning announcements for furhter updates. Concert Band Concert band members....there will be NO rehearsal  because of the strike.  Concert band members are asked to NOT come  morning for practice.

DEBATE TEAM There will be a debate team meeting TODAY after school in room 255.   New members are welcome!   Please see Mr. Sylvestre if you cannot attend.   LITERACY TEST On Thursday, October 20, all Grade 10 students and students who need to meet their literacy requirement will be taking the leap from paper to online.   The Laser Literacy website on the Laser Portal has been updated with videos on how to navigate the test, a link to a sample online OSSLT and many other helpful resources.   You can access the site through the icon on the Laser Portal or at http://laserliteracy.weebly.com. Join Mrs. Koppeser in the library for sessions on preparing to write the OSSLT every day after school THIS week.   The first session today after school will focus on learning how to summarize an information paragraph. The new online test is a week and a half away.   Visit the site and come out to the free sessions this week to give yourself the best chance at meeting your liter

Monday's Announcements

LITERACY TEST Join Mrs. Koppeser in the library for sessions on preparing to write the OSSLT every day after school next week.   Each night will focus on a different skill, such as writing a summary, news report and opinion essay and answering multiple choice questions.   The new online test is less than two weeks away.   Visit the site and come out to the free sessions next week to give yourself the best chance at meeting your literacy requirement early this year. Girls Hockey If you have not already done so, and are interested in playing for the St. Joe's Girls Hockey Team, please sign the list outside of the P.E. office. Mass set up All students who volunteered to set up after school for  Mass are reminded to meet in the gym immediately after school today. If you need community service hours, you are invited to join us to set up for Mass. Please meet in the gym right after school today. Cross Country An important message for Cross Country runners: Please pick up your t-shirts from me immediately after second period is finished in Room 257. You must be ready to get the bus at  12 pm  SHARP. Please be prompt! Robotics! A robotics meeting will take place on  Tuesday October 11th  in room # 168. Current and future robotics team members are expected to attend. Bring your lunch. If you cannot make it be sure to contact Mr. Regnier prior to the meeting.

PHOTO RETAKES Life-touch  Photography will be back on Tuesday October 4 th   for those students who missed having their photo taken.   If you wish to purchase a package, please bring your payment on retake day.   For students who have lost their student cards replacement cost is $5.00.  Students requiring a retake on their photo package must return their photo package to the photographer. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT Have you ever considered opening your own business?  Well if the thought has even crossed your mind...good news!   Junior Achievement will be beginning a new year on Monday Oct.17 .   The program will run every Monday for 18 weeks at Brennan High School from 6:30-9:00 .   If your interested, please see Mr. Gilbert in Rm. 253 for additional information.
