 TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility (also called TDOV, Transgender Day of Visibility)

It is an annual event occurring on March 31 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society.

Friendly reminder: All students are welcome to the STJ GSA meetings every Thursday at lunch. Email Mr. Parent or Mr. Barron for more info. 

CELEBRATE WORLD AUTISM DAY

On Saturday, April 2nd we celebrate World Autism Day to show our support for people on the spectrum.
At St. Joseph's, we will celebrate World Autism Day on Friday, April 1st. 
To celebrate, students are invited to wear tie dye tops with uniform bottoms on Friday, April 1st.  
If you do not have a tie dye top to wear, please be in full uniform and you can celebrate in spirit!

DIASPORA HOODIES

The Diaspora Club will be having a sweater sale beginning today through Friday in the Laser Box at lunch. We have size Small  left in every colour. Sweaters are for sale for $32 in cash only. Proceeds from the sale will go towards the Black Youth Empowerment Program. We cannot thank you enough for your overwhelming support! 

VALEDICTORIAN

Attention all grade 12 graduating students. 
If you are interested in being this year's valedictorian, please be sure to fill out the self nomination form in the gr. 12 Google Classroom by the end of the day this Friday, April 1st. 
You must meet the criteria as outlined and have 2 teachers support your nomination. 
Nominees will be contacted with next steps at the end of the week. 

CHOIR

Our first practice for CHOIR is happening tonight and then every thursday after school in the music room
There is still room to join if you want to sing, SO COME TO THE MUSIC ROOM TONIGHT!

POPCORN

We are still selling popcorn daily upstairs during lunch. The flavours are White Cheddar, Jalapeno Jack and Dill Pickle. The bags are $1. Get it while it's fresh

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Good Luck to both the senior and junior girls volleyball teams today. 
Seniors play today at 4pm at Holy Names
Juniors play at Villanova at 5:30 pm
Please come out and support the girls!!

GIRLS SOCCER

Girls Soccer Tryouts continue today immediately after school. Please meet in front of the Phys. Ed. Office as soon as possible after the bell. We will be outside again, so please be sure to dress accordingly. See you there!

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
