                STJ YOUTH TROOP

                On behalf of the STJ Youth Troop, the fundraiser to raise funds for cancer research and families affected by it runs until Friday!
                To help make a donation, you can purchase a ticket in your period 3 class.  Simply make a guess as to how many jolly ranchers are in the jar (which is placed in the display case beside Principal Desjardin’s office). Each ticket to make one guess costs $2 and you can purchase as many as you want!
                The 1st place winner gets to take the jar of candy home along with a $20 McDonald's gift card. 
                The 2nd place winner gets a $20 Tim Hortons gift card.
                Let's work together to combat cancer!

                YOUTH TROOP MEETING

                There will be a YOUTH TROOP meeting today at the start of lunch in room 256.

                GIRLS SOCCER

                There will be no tryouts tonight. Tryouts will continue on Monday after school. Please bring your equipment and be ready to participate in drills.
                 See you then!

                GIRLS HOCKEY

                The girls hockey season ended yesterday in a tough playoff loss to Sandwich. The 8 player Laser team fought until the end as they did all season. 
                In her last game as a Laser, team Captain Jada Malott scored the only goal. 
                Also graduating as seniors from the team are Assistant Captains Jada Yaldo and Chantal Godin.
                We wish them the best in the future! Once a Laser, Always a Laser!!!

                JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

                A big congratulations to the junior girls' volleyball team for winning their match against Brennan yesterday. Way to go Lasers!
                Also, please dismiss the members of the junior girls' volleyball team at 2:35 for their match today.  
                Good luck to all of the students on the team!

                DRESS DOWN

                This is a reminder that tomorrow is a full dressdown for all those who donated to Tampon Tuesday.
                Please comply with the school dress code.

                POPCORN FUNDRAISER

                Do you like popcorn? Do you like Kernels Popcorn? Do you have a favourite flavour? 
                Well you are in luck, because the yearbook club during lunch hours will be selling Kernels popcorn to decost the yearbooks. 
                They will be selling 3 different flavours: 
                White Cheddar
                Jalapeño Jack 
                Dill Pickle
                Each flavour costs only $1! The first sales will begin on Friday during lunch hour. Stay tuned! :) 

                RED CROSS

                On behalf of Miss. Maddalena's Period 2 Social Science Class, we would like to thank all the Staff and Students in our Lasers Community who helped support Ukraine and the Red Cross of Canada with our pin fundraiser. 
                We were able to generously donate $1,200.00. 
                Way to go Lasers, and continue praying for an end to this war! 🙏🏻

                LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

                 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
