MASTER DANCE WORKSHOP

ATTENTION LASERS! DO you want to DANCE? Do you want to have fun? Do you want to meet new people? Then come to our first MASTER DANCE WORKSHOP ON: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 12th From 3:15-4:15 pm For the cost of $4. The workshop will take place in the cafetorium and all St. Joe’s Students are welcome.


This is the first of many Master Dance Workshops. All proceeds go to support our Dance Team! Come & enjoy HIP HOP with CLYDE who is  a Raptor’s Dancer/  Hip hopper /Engineer/ Aspiring Professional Dancer


All St. Joe's students are welcomed! There will be a QR CODE TO SIGN UP! SEE YOU THERE!!!


DANCE TEAM

ATTENTION Choreographers

IF you are interested in choreographing for this year’s dance team, AUDITIONS ARE Thursday Oct 13th during lunch or after school.


TO prepare: Be sure to attend the Hip hop Masterclass as your audition piece AND prepare a short piece of choreography to your styles of dance that you are interested in choreographing.

BEST BUDDIES

There will be a Best Buddies meeting Friday Oct 14 in room 159.  If you would like to join the group, please come.  If you are looking to get involved and get self fulfilment by being a friend to another person this is the club for you. Also you can receive community hours.


LUNCHTIME SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOPS

Are you in grade 12 or 11 and want to  know more about how to access and apply for available  scholarships, bursaries and awards to help fund your post-secondary experience?

If so, there are 2 scholarship workshops available over the following weeks.

Both are during lunch and in the Learning Commons on Thursday October 13th as well as on Monday October 17th.

Make sure to mark your calendars and see you there!


NAVY CO-OP

HMCS Hunter will have representatives and a display booth in the Atrium at lunchtime today.  They will be here to promote the Navy Co-op program.

It is a paid co-op for Semester 2 for the Canadian Forces Naval Reserve Division with a guaranteed Summer job for Summer 2023.  The Application deadline is October 15th.  


HONOURS RECOGNITION MEDALS

If you did not attend the ceremony and received an invitation please come get your metal on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym hallway at 11:55.  You can also come before classes or after classes to room 159 but please do not come during instructional time.


DEBATE TEAM

Would you like to sharpen your persuasive skills?  If so, you are welcome to check out the debate team!!! We will have a brief meeting TODAY in room 255 at lunch.  All grades are welcome!!! See you at lunch in room 255.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Sylvestre in Room 255. 


TENNIS TEAM

We would like to congratulate players on the tennis team who played in their Divisional Tournament yesterday at St. Clair College, Parkside and Forest Glade courts.


All players represented STJ very well through their excellent sportsmanship. Special shout out to Jesse and Kole who made it to the semifinals but were unfortunately defeated by assumption.


Best of luck to Anika Yap who will compete in SWOSSAA on October 18th.


JR. BOYS VOLLEYBALL

The junior boys volleyball team took on the Sandwich Sabres last night in regular season action. The boys came out strong, worked together and managed to take 2 of 3 sets for the win. A great game against a tough opponent. Congrats boys! 


JR. GIRLS BASKETBALL

On Tuesday, our Junior girls basketball team took their talents on the road and defeated the Villanova Wildcats for the second time.  Tonight at 4:00pm, the girls play an exhibition game against F.J. Brennan.  Come out and support our Junior Lasers!


FOOTBALL TEAM

Our Laser football team crushed Tecumseh Vista, 56-7 With an amazing performance from Sam Mustafa who had 5 touchdowns and Evan Surette who had 2 interceptions. Amazing performance from our boys making their record 2-0. Let’s go Lasers! Next game is next Thursday against Massey.


KARAOKE FRIDAY

Attention Lasers!! It's Friday! It's KARAOKE Day!!! Come to the Music Room for some Karaoke Fun, and get your STAR on!!!

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
