VALADICTORIAN NOMINATIONS


Attention graduating grade 12's: valedictorian nominations are due by Tuesday April 3. You must fill in the Google form through the graduation website. Please see Ms. Flynn if you have any questions.

E- LEARNING SUMMER SCHOOL 

Elearning Summer School courses are now open for registration.  Only online courses are available at this time.  Any students interested in registering  must make an appointment to see their guidance counsellor.

INDIAN HORSE FILM 

Attention all students who took NBE 3U (First Nations, Metis, Inuit Literature) with Miss McGuire last year:  If you are interested in attending a special advanced screening of the newly released Canadian made film INDIAN HORSE, at Silver City theatre on April 9th please see Miss McGuire ASAP in rm 206 to hold your spot for this exciting field trip!


AFRICAN DIASPORA YOUTH CONFERENCE
Those of you who are wishing to attend the African Diaspora Youth Conference can be eligible for the $1000 University of Windsor entrance scholarship. Visit Mr. Wilson in room 159 for registration and payment which is now due. Failure to register by April 1st may hinder your ability to attend the conference. 

ST CLAIR COLLEGE SKILLS COMPETION 

On Saturday, two of our students from the Construction Academy competed in the 2 Person Carpentry Competition at the Annual St. Clair College "Get Skilled" regional skills competition. Going against teams from all three local boards, the team of Jocelyn Hunter and Anthony Ibrahim took home the Gold Medal, finishing first out of a field of 12 teams. Please congratulate Anthony and Jocelyn when you see them!

DANCE TEAM

The Lasers Dance Team spent the past 4 days at the Ontario Secondary School Dance Festival, coming home with many awards
In first place came "Fierce" choreographed by Lydia Collavino, Jessica Rudi and Alana Chittle and performed by 10 members of the team. "The Day Before" choreographed and danced by Shakira Ibrahim and Erica Cotey also came in first.
Second place was awarded to "Freaks" choreographed by Ashley LeFaive, "Hold Me Down" choreographed by Karissa St. Louis, "Numb" choreographed by Rose Schiller and "Nothing in My Head" choreographed and performed by Shakira Ibrahim.
Muhammad Salmaan brought home third for his choreography in "Symbolism", Sarah Beshiri and Alyssa White also achieved third for "Wolves" and "Black Widows" and Shakira Ibrahim and Erica Cotey took third for their dance, "Flashback" which held up against some fierce competition.
Congratulations to the team for working hard and for all of their achievements this season.

If you are interested in seeing these award winning dances, there will be a showcase of the dance talent at here on May 31st with a fourth period buyout and an evening show.

 There is a MANDATORY choir meeting today, at lunch, in room 256. YOU MUST BE THERE RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING OF LUNCH! Once again, there is a MANDATORY choir meeting RIGHT AT THE START OF LUNCH today in room 256. PLEASE BE THERE QUICKLY!!!
