COATS FOR KIDS
The Social Justice Club will be collecting coats this week for our Coats for Kids campaign. If you have any gently used coats, snow pants, hats, mitts or scarves, please consider donating them to families in need in our community. All donations can be brought to the Chapel any day this week, before school.  


COPA DI RAYO
Reminder to all students interested in participating in this year's Copa di Rayo 3 v 3 indoor lunch soccer league registration is due this Thursday to Mr. Castagna in CORE Services, Room 151. If there are any questions or concerns please see Mr. Castagna in Room 151.


COR WEEKEND RETREAT
COR is a weekend retreat that will change your life! Get away from the busyness of life and discover who you are, who you are meant to be and how much God loves you. The next COR will be held November 9-11. Please see Mrs. Walls in Campus Ministry for more details and for application forms.



CONSIDERING A CALL TO THE PRIESTHOOD?
St. Peter's Seminary is hosting a Come and See Weekend for men who are 17 years old or older and considering a call to the Priesthood. The weekend will be held Oct. 26-28 and offers a first-hand experience of the life of a seminarian, spiritual help for discernment and an opportunity to meet current seminarians. If you are interested, please see Mr. Polewski or Mrs. Walls for more information.


SHAD
This message is for all Grade 10 and 11 students who have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math.  SHAD is an enrichment program where participants live at a host university campus outside their hometown for the month of July.  At SHAD, exceptional youth are empowered to recognize their potential as leaders and change makers. You will also receive the SHAD Fellow Designation, which is recognized and valued by universities, scholarship providers and employers. If you would like to know more about this amazing opportunity please see Ms. Gilbert in guidance.  The deadline to apply is November 19.


UNITED WAY
Attention all staff: United Way pledge forms have been placed in your mailboxes. Complete the forms with your pledges by October 30th and return them to Miss Touma in Room 155. Please do not leave completed forms with cheques, cash or credit card information in Miss Touma's mailbox. Kindly hand them to her in Room 155. Should you have any questions or concerns please see Ms. Touma.



BUILD A DREAM
This message is for ALL Grade 9 to 11 girls who may have an interest in skilled trades, STEM, emergency response and entrepreneurship.  The Windsor chapter of "Build a Dream" will be holding their annual event on November 8th at the Ciociaro Club from 4-9 PM.  This is a wonderful opportunity for young women to hear about career pathways under-represented by women in our community, to access information, resources, networks, and role models. There is no charge for this event, dinner is included, parents are encouraged to attend.  Space is limited.  For more information please see Ms. Gilbert in guidance as soon as possible.


BOYS HOCKEY
Tryouts will begin Tuesday October 30 at 3:40 P.M., in the AM 800 rink at the WFCU and Thursday November 1st. Make sure that YOU –– and NOT YOUR MOM AND DAD have all your OHL approved equipment and a jersey in your hockey bag as you will be receiving a  numbered pinny when you register with your $10 in cash for each try out with the coaches.


TD SCHOLARSHIP
The TD scholarship is interested in hearing from students who have demonstrated consistent and outstanding dedication to solving a community problem or making their community a better place. Eligible students must have a minimum overall grade average of 76% in their most recently completed school year.  The due date for this scholarship is November 16th. For further information check out the guidance scholarship page found through St Joseph's High School Portal or come and talk with Ms Cuderman in guidance for more information. In the past we have had students win this very large and prestigious scholarship.


TED-ED CLUB
There will be a TED-ED CLUB MEETING TODAY in room 208 at lunch.

WRESTLING TEAM
If you want to improve yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically and are willing to work hard to do so, then wrestling would right for you. Wrestling will help you develop mental toughness and a fearless, confident attitude. Wrestling will teach you how to work through physical and mental pain and exhaustion, how to set goals and reach them and how to make failure and challenge your learning curves for success. Sign up on the list outside of Room 162, or speak with Mr Menard or Mrs. Carpio-Sementilli for more information.


ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB
Attention All Students: There is a meeting for the Environmental Club today after school in room 155. We will be meeting to organize and go outside to do clean up today as well as help with the native garden Mr. Baron is doing. Please report to room 155 and come prepared to work outside.  


SENIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL
Attention all members of the senior girls team, Wednesday's practice has been cancelled.  Once again there is no practice today for the senior girls basketball team.  


Senior girls, please remember to be at General Amherst High School for our game tomorrow (Thursday) by no later than 5:00 pm.  Anyone needing rides to tomorrow's game, please see either of the coaches at some point today or tomorrow.


UNITED FANDOMS CLUB
Reminder to fandoms club members to come to room 217 today at lunch for our halloween planning meeting - the rest of the school can put Oct 30th Tuesday afterschool in their calendars for a scary good time in the conference room with horror trivia, guest artists and prizes

Just a reminder that the GSA club meets every Wednesday at lunch in the chapel.  Everyone is welcome.
