GIRLS HOCKEY
Attention all girls interested in trying out for the St. Joe's Girls Hockey Team.
There will be a sign up session on Friday October 5th at the beginning of lunch in room 261.
The first practice is Wednesday October 17th. See you at the meeting!



VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

The Canadian Cancer Society is in desperate need of volunteers to help raise funds for breast cancer research! 
Do you have 2 hours to volunteer sometime between October 11 to October 14????

UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR 

Just a reminder that the University of Windsor will be here tomorrow (Thursday) during period 2 to speak to all gr. 12 U/M classes in the cafetorium.



HOMEWORK CLUB
There will be no homework club tonight in CORE services.  Homework club will resume next week on Wednesday, October 10th from 3-4 in room 151 (CORE Services)
Grade 12's: a representative from King's University will be in atrium at lunch today.  Check it out!



PHOTO RETAKE DAY
Lifetouch will be at the school on Wednesday October 10th for those students who missed having their photo taken.  For students who have lost their student card there is a replacement cost of $5.00. Students requiring a retake on their photo package must return their photo package to the photographer. 


The Horatio Alger Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Ontario Scholarship is awarded to full-time students in Ontario with financial need who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as strength of character, a good academic record, a commitment to pursue a post-secondary education, and a desire to contribute to society.


This Scholarship is due October 25th!!!!! Further information on this scholarship can be found through the guidance portal.  




Loran Leadership Award
Nominations are still needed for the Loran Leadership Award.

Applicants must be in their graduating year, present a minimum cumulative average of 85% and hold a Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status. Each school may sponsor up to three candidates.

See Ms. Cuderman in guidance if you wish to be nominated well before the due date of October 17th.

Their motto is character, service, and leadership.  This organization offers the country’s largest and most comprehensive four-year undergraduate award (valued at $100,000) to young Canadians on the basis of character, service and the promise of leadership!

University of Toronto National Scholarship
The University of Toronto National Book Award Program is intended to recognize and 

reward the very best Canadian secondary school students, regardless of which university

 those students choose to attend. These are students who demonstrate superior academic 

performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad 

context. 

They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and

have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities.




YOGA CLUB
Students interested in practising yoga and mindfulness on a weekly basis, 


please attend a meeting on Thursday October 4th in Room 201 at lunch.





UNITED WAY
Attention All Staff: United Way pledge forms have been placed in your mailboxes. Complete the forms with your pledges by December 1, 2018 and return them to Miss Touma in room 155. Please do not leave completed forms with cheques, cash or Credit Card information in Miss Touma's  mailbox. Kindly hand them to her in room 155. Should you have any questions or concerns please see Ms. Touma in room 155. 


TENNIS TEAM
Attention tennis fans and players. The tennis tournament has been moved to this THURSDAY at Parkside. Please make sure you are there for 8 am tomorrow. Game on. If there are any changes you wil be notified by Mr. Robillard.



DANCE TEAM
A reminder to all Dance Team aspiring choreographers - there is a choreography meeting tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 8am. Please be there. Thank you. 



ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB
Attention All Members of the Environmental Club: Thursday October 4, 2018 is suppose to be a sunny and dry day. We will be meeting in room 155 after school this Thursday to organize and go outside to do some clean up. Come prepared to work outside on clean up Thursday after school this week. Please see Ms. Touma if you have any questions or concerns.



POETRY READING
Mr. Robillard would like to thank all the staff members and students who attended the Poetry at the Manor Volume 6 at Willistead Manor yesterday. Several of our poet laureates shared poems to a packed house. Thank you again for your deep interest in the spoken word and in supporting arts and culture in Windsor.



CHESS CLUB
Call out to all students who want to play or learn the great strategic game of chess, are welcome to join the chess club. Come out and play a game of chess Wednesdays' after school or Monday's at lunch in room 256!


LASER NEWS
