Thursday's Announcements

Attention female students interested in Cancer Research.  Dr. Lisa Porter is a highly regarded cancer researcher at the University of Windsor. 
 She is opening up her lab tomorrow morning (as it is a PA Day) for you to visit her and learn about opportunities in this rewarding field.  

 If you are interested in attending, you would have to find your own way to the University of Windsor.  Please see Mrs. Gendreau during period 1 or 2 as she will be emailing the names at the end of lunch.  Thanks!

The Royal Canadian Legion is sponsoring a Poster, Video, Poem and Essay contest based on the subject of Remembrance.  Entries may be in English or French.  Please see Mrs. Koppeser or your English teacher for an entry form or more details.  All entries must be submitted by Friday, November 10th.

 Cross Country 
Our cross country season came to a close yesterday, with Nicole LaRue advancing to SWOSSAA which will take place in Pettawawa, Ontario next week. She finished 3rd in the Senior girls 6km race. Ezra Fogal had an impressive Top 20 (16th) finish in the Junior boys race. ALL runners had a fantasic season, with many reaching personal bests, and continually striving to work hard and reach their goals. Job well done, Laser runners!!!
Please return WASHED singlets to Mr. Strong or Ms. Flynn by Monday, and stay tuned for details regarding a team party!

Boys Volleyball
Laser! Our senior and junior boys volleyball teams have their LAST home game tonight against riverside in the laser dome! The seniors will play first at 4, followed by the juniors at 5. We’re hoping to see you all there!

Dance Team
This is a reminder to Dance Team that your $75 registration fee is due by October 30th in order to hold your place at Dance fest. There will be a mandatory meeting to finalize the list of team members on Monday October 30 in room 254 at lunch. Please bring your lunch. LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
