BEST BUDDIES

Attention all members of Best Buddies, there will be a mandatory meeting at lunch on Monday, November 20 in room 153 to discuss November and December events. If there are any issues please see Mr. Castagna in CORE Services.

JUNIOR BOYS FOOTBALL

Attention all members of the Junior Boys Football team, uniform return and pasta lunch will occur Tuesday, November 21 in room 261. Any player who does return their uniform by this date (including those who quit the team prior to competing the season) will be issued detentions thereafter. If there are any concerns please see Mr. Castagna or Mr. Fuerth.

JUNIOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Wow! What a night...

Here is Mrs. Fetter’s summary of our quest for swossaa gold:

Imagine the start of our night: warm ups are done, 2 teams are on the court, the refs are doing a final check. The whistle blows for the first serve and instantly, it’s a tornado of action! Bump, set, smash, block, dig, repeat, until finally a kill goes off our blockers hands and out of bounds. The crowd instantly erupts! And so it began… it was a full 2 hours of this intense volleyball. Smash, kill, block, dig! The fans were deafeningly loud! It was an incredible night!

As the game progressed, the CK team inched away from us. They won the first game. But we came back and won the second game. It was amazing volleyball from our boys!! The fans were going crazy! Then we fought hard for a 5 point lead late in game 3, but Chatham was relentless! They came back and stole our victory; a 24-26 loss! Ouch. We just couldn’t recover in game 4 and we would have to be happy with second place AND knowing that we had an incredible season.

Great kills and blocking from Tayo Alalade, Gabe Rosette, and Brayden Walls to keep us in the match! Rock solid defensive playing from Brandon Goudreau and Allen Concepcion. And even Simon Edmundson subbed into the game and played with a broken thumb!  Lastly, we never would have been able to even win wecssaa without the super fast feet and talented hands of our setter, Ezra Fogal!

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
