Monday's Announcements
BLOOD DRIVE
This semester's blood drive is taking place this Friday, Feb 7 in our gym. If you have signed up to donate blood, please remember to bring a government-issued photo ID (driver's license), to eat a good breakfast the morning of, and to ensure you are well hydrated. If you have not signed up and would like to donate, please see Maya Toma or Ms. Flynn to be given an appointment time. Appointment slips will be distributed in your period 1 class on Friday.
OPTIMIST CLUB CONTESTS & OECTA YOUNG AUTHORS CONTEST
The Optimist Club has two contests at this time and the deadline is Wed. Feb 5. There is an essay contest (up to 8oo words) and there is an oratorical speech contest (4 to 5 minutes) on the topic "Just iMagine a World without Boundaries." Also, students (in any grade) can submit a poem or story or non-fiction piece or play to the OECTA Young Author's Contest. The deadline is this Friday, Feb. 7. Submit your entries to an English teacher. If you have any questions or need entry forms for these contests, speak to Dr. Brode in room 208.
HOCKEY TEAM SCORE KEEPERS
The Senior Boys hockey team is in need of experienced time and scorekeepers for the rest of the season. Please see Mrs. Greig in CORE services room 151 for more information.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
The girl's volleyball teams are back in action tonight at Massey. Teachers, please dismiss the members of the junior girl's team at 2:30 today.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Today is the last home game of the regular season for Junior and Senior boys basketball. The teams will be facing Herman with seniors at 4:00 and juniors at 4:20 in the laser dome. Make sure to wish them luck!
PROM COMMITTEE
There will be a meeting for all members of the prom committee today at lunch in room 257.
CHOIR
Attention singers - Choir practices resume today at lunch in room 210! Please be there right away at the beginning of lunch!
CONCERT BAND
Due to tomorrow's work stoppage, band practice will have to be cancelled. Practices resume on Thursday, Feb. 6.
