Monday's Announcements

SWAB EVENT 
Wednesday May 16th from 11:00 - 2:00 representatives from the Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association will be here to swab students and register them for the One Match Bone Marrow registry.   Currently there are over 900 Canadians looking for a bone marrow transplant.  You might be the one they are looking for.  The process to register is a simple swab of your cheek.  A former St. Joseph's grad was registered at one of our previous events when she was in high school and was a bone marrow donor a few years ago. Just confirms that these events are making a difference in the lives of those in need of a bone marrow donation.
You must be 17 years old to register and be willing to donate to anyone in need.  

CO-OP CAREER FAIR 

Tomorrow current coop students will be participating in this year’s Co-op Career Fair.
Classes are invited to come to the atrium between 9:30 – 2:30 to learn about the varied placements, opportunities and learning that is occuring this semester in co-op.  Most subject areas will be represented and teachers should be aware that the morning and afternoon presentations will be different.  Please join us in the atrium to share this semesters students work experience.

GRAD COMMITTEE 

The Graduation Committee will be meeting today, at lunch, in the conference room.

TRACK AND FIELD 

There will be a VERY IMPORTANT meeting for ALL track and field participants in the gym today at the beginning of lunch. If you do not attend you will not be participating in the WECSSAA  meet this week.

BOYS BASEBALL

The Boys baseball game is CANCELLED today due to bad weather and diamond conditions. Please stay tuned for updates regarding rescheduling. Players are to report to all their classes as per usual. 


JUNIOR BOYS SOCER

Congratulations to the Jr Boys soccer team who won two of their three games on a soggy Friday.  The third game was very close.  Numerous goals were scored.  Well done Lasers!

SENIOR GIRLS SOCCER

Please dismiss members of the Senior Girls soccer team at 12:30 today for their playoff game against Holy Names at 2:00 pm at the University.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
