ONTARIO UNIVERSITIES FAIR
Grads, the Ontario Universities' Fair is taking place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from September 27-29.  This is a free event and is a great way for students to chat with university reps, professors, and students.  For more information visit ontariouniversitiesfair.ca or see the flyer in guidance. 

 NAVY TOUR BUS
On Wednesday, September 25 the Naval Armed Forces will be at our school with their Tour Bus.  Representatives will be here to answer questions about a variety of programs and opportunities.  Be sure to stop by during lunch to find out if they have anything for you!

 REST STOP AMBASSADORS
Students, are you looking to gain more of your required volunteer hours? Rest stop ambassador positions are available for the upcoming Essex Region Conservation Bike Tour coming up on Saturday, September 28th.  Different shifts are available.  Visit https://raceroster.com/…/essex-region-conservatio…/volunteer for more information and to sign up or visit the volunteer page on the Laser Portal.

LORAN SCHOLARSHIP
Every High School in Canada is allowed to nominate up to 3 students for this scholarship that is valued at $100, 000 over four years. This award is meant to support young Canadians who show a strength of character and a commitment to service in their communities. If you have an average of 85% or higher and you enjoy challenging yourself to fully realize your leadership potential, then this scholarship is for you! If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, please come into guidance this week and sign up for an appointment and a potential nomination. The sign-up sheet will be available until Friday, September 27th and can be found on the counter near the yellow guidance appointment slips.

SENIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Senior Girls basketball team has their first league game today at home vs Lajeunesse.  The game starts at 4 pm. Please come cheer them on! Also, this is a message for all senior girls players, there will be a quick meeting in room 151 afterschool.

STUDENT COUNCIL
All Student Council Members are reminded of our meeting today, at lunch, in Room 253.

FANDOMS UNITED CLUB
This is a reminder to any and all Fandom united members, new or old, that there is a meeting at lunch today in room 217 at lunch to discuss the Halloween event.

30TH ANNIVERSARY SLAM POEM
There will be a meeting for all STJ30 Slam poets tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 25th at lunch in room 206.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
