GRADS
The Ontario Universities' Fair is taking place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from September 27-29.  This is a free event and is a great way for students to chat with university reps, professors, and students.  For more information visit ontariouniversitiesfair.ca or see the flyer in guidance.  

SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships for the graduating class of 2020 are now in. Make sure to frequently check the guidance bulletin boards as well as the guidance web page found through the St Joseph's portal. Every year scholarships go unclaimed because no one has applied for them! For further information, please feel free to come in and talk to the guidance team in the guidance office, before school, during lunch, after school or make an appointment with your guidance counsellor.

OPTIMIST FAMILY FUN FAIR
The Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach will be hosting its annual Optimist Family Fun Fair on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at McAuliffe Park in Tecumseh from 12-5.  Volunteers are needed to help this day run smoothly.  Volunteers are asked to arrive at the park between 11:00 - 11:30 and stay until 5:30.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact Maria at maria_14_1995@hotmail.com.  For more information, check the volunteer board in the guidance office or click on the volunteer button on the Laser Portal.

LITTLE THINGS MATTER
Little Things Matter is looking for volunteers to help fix up homes in the downtown area. Jobs include repair/replacement of fencing, porches, windows, painting, landscaping, yard clean-up and more. JOB OPPORTUNITY
Students, there is a fantastic short-term job opportunity with Elections Canada. Elections Canada is looking for students to work one of two shifts between October 11 and Oct 21.  Each shift is 2 or four days of work.  Shift 1 pays approximately $600 and shift 2 is $1100.  Applicants must be 16 by October 11th.  Jobs will be filled quickly.  Resumes must be submitted no later than Wednesday.  See guidance for details regarding shift days, duties and contact information.  

WALK FOR LIFE
The 30th Annual Walk for Life is taking place this Saturday, September 21. It is a 3K walk-a-thon to support the Windsor-Essex County Right to Life. Students who participate will receive Community Service hours. If interested, please see Mr. Polewski in Room 153. As well, anyone who would like to make a donation, please see Mr.Polewski.

HORATIO ALGER CANADIAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarships are now available and they are giving away 160 scholarships valued at $5 000! Have you ever displayed integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and have a financial need? 30TH ANNIVERSARY SLAM POEM
Could all students who signed up to be part of the 30th anniversary Slam poem team please meet Ms. McGuire and Ms. Flynn in Room 206 at the beginning of lunch on Wednesday. If you are still interested but haven’t signed up, please attend the meeting as well. 

MUSKOKA WOODS
Lunchtime gatherings for the Muskoka Woods leaders begin today and continue until departure date in October. Report to the gym immediately at the start of lunch. Bring your lunch with you as you will be together for the entire time.

TENNIS
Anyone interested in playing Tennis this year is asked to meet Miss Donais in room 254 at the beginning of lunch today. All tennis players are encouraged to attend - especially grade 9s. Registration for the upcoming tournament must be done within the week so it is crucial that anyone wishing to participate attends this meeting.

BOYS HOCKEY
There will be a meeting on Thursday at lunch in room 160 for all those boys who wish to try out for the hockey team. Those of you who are playing travel for Windsor triple-A please ask your coaches if they will allow you to play high school hockey. If they won't let you play, then you need not come to the meeting.

STUDENT COUNCIL
A reminder to all Student Council Members of our meeting today at lunch in Room 253. As well, all tech team members assisting in running Junior day, please come to this meeting as well.

FANDOMS UNITED CLUB
The first Fandoms United meeting is in room 217 at lunch today for anyone interested. Tuesday morning music and Halloween will be the topics of discussion. New members are welcome to check out the Fandoms United club at lunch today in room 217.

SOCIAL JUSTICE
Social Justice will have their first meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 257

WE PROJECT
There will be a WE Project meeting today at lunch in room 155. New people welcome!
