NAVY BUS TOUR
On Wednesday, September 25 the Naval Armed Forces will be at our school with their Tour Bus. Representatives will be here to answer questions about a variety of programs and opportunities.  Be sure to stop by during lunch to find out if they have anything for you!

ONTARIO UNIVERSITIES' FAIR
Grads, the Ontario Universities' Fair is taking place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from September 27-29. This is a free event and is a great way for students to chat with university reps, professors, and students.  For more information visit ontariouniversitiesfair.ca or see the flyer in guidance.


WALK FOR LIFE
The 30th Annual Walk for Life is taking place this Saturday, September 21. It is a 3K walk-a-thon to support the Windsor-Essex County Right to Life. Students who participate will receive Community Service hours. If interested, please see Mr. Polewski in Room 153. As well, anyone who would like to make a donation, please see Mr.Polewski.

LITTLE THINGS MATTER
Little Things Matter is looking for volunteers to help fix up homes in the downtown area. Jobs include repair/replacement of fencing, porches, windows, painting, landscaping, yard clean-up and more. OPTIMIST FAMILY FUN FAIR
The Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach will be hosting its annual Optimist Family Fun Fair on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at McAuliffe Park in Tecumseh from 12-5.  Volunteers are needed to help this day run smoothly. Volunteers are asked to arrive at the park between 11:00 - 11:30 and stay until 5:30. REST STOP AMBASSADORS
Students, are you looking to gain more of your required volunteer hours? Rest stop ambassador positions are available for the upcoming Essex Region Conservation Bike Tour coming up on Saturday, September 28th.  Different shifts are available. Visit the raceroster website for more information and to sign up or visit the volunteer page on the Laser Portal.

HORATIO ALGER CANADIAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarships are now available and they are giving away 160 scholarships valued at $5 000! Have you ever displayed integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and have a financial need? If so you may be eligible for this scholarship. THE LORAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Loran Scholarship foundation has recently released its annual scholarships and applications. They are looking for future undergraduate students who are well rounded and demonstrate character, a promise of leadership and a strong commitment to service in the community. For further requirements please consult the guidance portal or the display in front of guidance. Please note that for this scholarship there is a nomination process so please go and see Miss Cuderman in guidance well before the end of September for more information on the nomination process.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships for the graduating class of 2020 are now in. Make sure to frequently check the guidance bulletin boards as well as the guidance web page found through the St Joseph's portal. Every year scholarships go unclaimed because no one has applied for them! For further information, please feel free to come in and talk to your guidance team in the guidance office, before school, during lunch, after school or make an appointment with your guidance counsellor.

GIRLS HOCKEY
Attention all girls interested in trying out for the St. Joe's Girls Hockey team...
We will have a short registration meeting at the beginning of lunch on Monday September 23rd in room 261.We are especially looking for new grade 9 and 10 players. Come be a part of our team. Here we go Lasers!


BOYS HOCKEY
There will be a luncheon meeting today at 11:35 in room 160 for all those boys who wish to try out for the hockey team.

TENNIS
A reminder to Tennis players that we will meet at Forest Glade Tennis Courts after school today from 3:30-4:39.
