MOCK TRIAL
This past Monday evening, the Mock Trial team competed in the Ontario Justice and Education Network's Regional Mock Trial Tournament.  Six schools from our region prepared their arguments for both the defence and the crown and were ready to defend their position in front of local judges and lawyers in charge of hearing the case.

Our team competed in two very challenging rounds. During the first round, they represented the defence and fought hard through some tough questioning. In the end, they left that round victorious as the defendant was found to be "not guilty". During the second round, as the crown, our team faced a very strong competitor.  Although they worked hard to prove that the defendant was guilty, they were unable to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt and as a result, lost the round.

Our Mock Trial team has been preparing for the past two months and should be very proud of their efforts. If you see any of the following students in the halls, please congratulate them on a job well done.
