SKILLED TRADES INFORMATION EVENING
Gr.  11's and 12's, are you interested in exploring the skilled trades?  St. Clair College is hosting a FREE event on Wednesday, April 10 from 5-9 pm.  Dinner is included.  Registration is required for interested participants.  For more information please see the flyer in guidance. 


MARINES
Any young women interested in learning more about the Navy, there will be an information session on April 10 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  The session will take place at HMCS Hunter.  For more information please see the flyer posted in guidance.


MILITARY CO-OP
Attention Students:
The Military Co Operative education program may be available to you.
This co-op program will offer you:

·         4 Afternoon high school credits

·         $45.15 per afternoon

·         Military Qualifications

·         A guaranteed job in Canada's Army Reserve after your placement

The Aim of this program is to introduce you to the diverse career opportunities in the Canadian Armed Forces while providing a challenging and rewarding experience that will benefit you for years to come.

Recruiters will be at your school April 15 at 12:15 PM for an information session to discuss more on the program. Please go to Guidance to sign up for this presentation.


ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL AWARDS
Each year, St. Joe’s is proud to offer over 20 scholarships and bursaries to our graduating students donated by friends and sponsors of our school.

A committee of staff members and parents will select the winners and announce the names at graduation.

This year's requests for applications will be available in the guidance office Tuesday April 9th to April 23rd.


You’re eligible for these awards if you:

·         are a graduating student who will be in college or university in September of 2019

·         have a pretty solid academic record and

·         have been involved in the life of the school and the community.


The deadline for submission of a hard copy of the completed application into the Guidance office is: 3pm, Thursday April 25th, 2019.

Unfortunately, late applications will not be considered.


AFRICAN DIASPORA YOUTH CONFERENCE
This is a very important message from the African Diaspora Youth Conference.  Due to high enrolment numbers the conference is limiting our attendance numbers to 20.  Therefore, the first 20 students to see Mr. Wilson in room 159 with the cash payment, permission form and the online registration form will be the only students to attend the conference this year.


PROM TICKET SALES
Attention Grade 12 Lasers: 

The Prom Committee cordially invites you to the Starry Night Prom at the Caboto Club on May 3rd 2019

Tickets for 70 dollars will be sold in the laser box on April 16,17,23,24,25 

Contracts will be handed at the Grad Assembly on April 9th

WE PROJECT
They will be selling dress down passes for $1.00 in the atrium at lunch on Wednesday, April 10; Thursday, April 11 and Friday morning, April 12 before classes start at 8:15 am to 8:45 am. Students will be given their dress down passes once they purchase them in the atrium at lunch. The dress down day will be Friday April 12. 


VALEDICTORIAN NOMINEES
All valedictorian nominees are asked to meet Mr. Hind and Ms. Flynn in the LEARNING COMMONS at lunch TODAY for a very brief but very important meeting. That's Sukie Chaggar, Tina Ighorewho, Michael Zivcic, Larissa Dushime, Jennifer Costea are all to meet in the Literacy office in the LEARNING COMMONS at the beginning of lunch.
