Monday's Announcements



CONCERT BAND
Concert band sign-ups continue today at lunch.  A special invitation goes out to grade 9 students to join the concert band.  Come out to the music room after announcements to join the concert band IF YOU ALREADY PLAY AN INSTRUMENT.  The music room is located behind the cafeteria, on the left side, in room 164.  A lot of great music has been selected for this year. Come out and make memories to last a lifetime by joining the CONCERT BAND.
BEST BUDDIES
There will be a meeting this Tuesday, September 11th during lunch in Core Services. If you would like to get information about Best Buddies please come and join us!  Everyone is welcome!  If you cannot attend and would like to be a part of Best Buddies please see Ms. Marra Rm 220 or Mr. Castagna Core Services.
CROSS COUNTRY
Cross country practices continue this week after school. Meet in the phys. ed. hallway at 3:00 ready to run. New runners can still come out. Once again, a special call goes out to grade 9 boys and girls.
SCIENCE OLYMPIADE
Attention Science Olympians!  Any senior science students interested in participating in the upcoming Science Olympiade in October, please sign up outside room 221.  Our first meeting will be held this Thursday at lunch in room 221.  Please see Mrs. Gendreau and Mrs. Altenhof.
DANCE TEAM
Attention all students interested in auditioning for this year's dance team: 
There will be a brief information meeting at the beginning of lunch in the Drama Room #163 on Tuesday, September 11th.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
The Knights of Columbus are looking for students to volunteer to help with the 8th Annual Coats for Kids Pasta Dinner Fundraiser. It is being held at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish on Sunday, September 16 from 11:30am to 6:00pm. If you are interested in helping or would like to purchase tickets to attend the dinner, please see Mr. Robillard or Mrs. Walls.


Attention all students in Grades 9 to 12! St. Anne’s Church is looking for volunteers as leaders for this year’s Youth Ministry programs. If you want to volunteer, the first team meeting is Wednesday, September 19 at St. Anne’s Parish hall from 6pm to 9pm. Dinner will be included.

Most Precious Blood Church is also looking for teenagers who want to grow in their faith, lead others and get community service hours. Their first team meeting will be today from 6:30-7:45pm.

Being a youth ministry leader is a great way to get your community service hours!

SWIM TEAM 
There will be a quick meeting at the beginning of lunch on Wednesday in Room 254 for those interested in joining the Swim Team this year. Please come right from class and we will have you out within 10 minutes.

 FOOTBALL

Anyone in grades 9 or 10 wishing to join the Laser Junior Football team should report to the locker room after school today.  You DO NOT need any experience. That is what coaches are for.  All you need is the courage and dedication to join a program of awesome endurance.  You will gain friendships brought fourth from a shared daily struggle of weather and aggressive contact.  You will have these memories for life.  The coaches look forward to seeing you after school.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
