PHYSICS CONTEST

On Thursday May 4, several thousand of the best and brightest grade 12 physics students from all over Canada, USA and the rest of the world wrote the presitgious and very difficult Sir Isaac Newton Physics contest administered by the University of Waterloo. 4 students from St. Joe's wrote the contest this year (Dante Bisetto, Aby Sabzwari, Sevan Ohanyan, and Anthony Pham)

All students did admirably well with Dante, Aby, and Sevan earning honourable mentions.

A very special congratulation goes out to Anthony Pham who for the second year in a row finished in the Top 100 students in the world.

To give you an idea of how difficult this contest is, Anthony correctly answered 6 out of the 12 problems on the contest to finish 45th in the world out of approximately 2000 students.

Anthony finished 45th in the world, 39th in all of Canada, 33rd in Ontario and for the second year in a row, in 1st place in Windsor-Essex.  Excellent Work Anthony!!!!!
