ONTARIO SKILLS COMPETITION

Last week, two members of the SHSM Construction program travelled to Toronto to compete in the 2017 Ontario Skills Competition.

Devin Forget and Samantha Hunter competed to the 2 person Team Carpentry competition where they had to build a Cedar Arch Bridge.

The competitors are given 6 1/2 hours to build the project out of a small pile of wood with the exact amount of wood required. Sam and Devin overcame many obstacles in the event and used their formidable skills at the highest levels.

Out of 53 teams and 106 competitors, Devin and Sam placed 11th overall.

Please congratulate them when you see them. Their finished project will be displayed in the atrium very soon.

Way to represent St. Joe's and the Laser Construction Crew!
