SPELLING BEE

What is all the BUZZ about in our English classes this April?

The English department is hosting its sixth annual Spelling Bee Championships during Education Week on May 4th.

All Grade 9 and 10 students are competing in bees in their English classes this semester to qualify for the finals.

If you are in Grade 9 or 10, and not taking English this semester, but would like to participate in the Spelling Bee, please see Mrs. Koppeser by no later than next Wednesday, April 26th to sign up.

Good luck to all our spellers!

PROM TICKETS

Prom tickets are on sale in the Laser Box today.  You will need to have completed your 40 house community service, have your signed contract and $65 in order to purchase a ticket.  Students will need to choose their table upon purchase of their ticket.

PRAISE TEAM

Just a reminder to members of the Praise Team and all those wishing to sing at our upcoming mass.

There is rehearsal today at lunch in the chapel.  See you all there.

BASEBALL

The St. Joe's BASEBALL team played through stormy weather last night to give Brennan a great battle.

Ending in an exciting TIE, the coaches decided on an international game tie breaker and so played an extra inning, despite the weather, and unfortunately, the Cardinals snuck another run in on us.

Honourable mention goes to the following players for some strong performances:  Lauryn Schram, who shut a huge hit down at third base with her cat-like reflexes.  Brayden Hoare, who was a powerhourse showing what our hitters are made of.

Matty Dimoff, who had an amazing right field catch that kept us in the game.  Aidan McGuire-Banks, who caught fearlessly for Evan Fergie Ferguson and Shane Tracey, who both shone on the pitching mound with several strike-outs.

Way to go LASERS!!! You brought the BOOM!!   Good luck tomorrow in your game against Sandwich.

SENIOR GIRL SOCCER

The St Joes Senior Girls Soccer Team beat Massey 2-1 in a heroic effort of stamina in the midst of driving rain and wind and mud.

Zoe Kepran and Skyler Nephew scored the timely goals and Athena DImario Done was awesome in net. Excellent hustle by Semera Riccardi,  and Kayla, Vanessa, Cam , Katie and Alessia held back their offense! Way to go girls!

JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER

Attention Junior Girls Soccer team.  Please meet at 3pm outside the changerooms.  Depending on the weather we will make a decision if we will practice or not.
