CANCER AWARENESS


Hey Lasers!


Today, there will be students from Mme Lage's class promoting Cancer Awareness in the Atrium at lunch.


If you know of anyone who has been touched by Cancer, you can write their name or an encouraging message on a ribbon
that will be placed on the Atrium wall. 


On Wednesday ONLY, you can make a $2 donation for dress down pass for Thursday, April 27! Details to follow.

PROM TICKETS

Prom tickets are on sale in the Laser Box.  Today is the last day to get your tickets! 

You will need to have completed your 40 house community service, have your signed contract and $65 in order to purchase a ticket.  

Students will need to choose their table upon purchase of their ticket. 


SPELLING BEE


What is all the BUZZ about in our English classes this April?

The English department is hosting its sixth annual Spelling Bee Championships during Education Week on May 4th.  

All Grade 9 and 10 students are competing in bees in their English classes this semester to qualify for the finals.  

If you are in Grade 9 or 10, and not taking English this semester, but would like to participate in the Spelling Bee, please see Mrs. Koppeser by no later than Wednesday, April 26th to sign up.

All summer school applications are now available in the Guidance office.

UNITED FANDOMS

Greetings Pedawon learners - "May the Fourth be with you" is fast approaching and thus the united fandoms club will be holding a meeting in room 217 tuesday at lunch

New members and old friends are invited to join us  - special bonus  - we have acquired some fanzines directly from Japan for viewing!

COFFEE HOUSE

Attention All Students: There is a meeting for all of those involved in planning the Coffee House /Open Mic event today at lunch in room 155.

 Also anyone who would like to perform for the event is asked to come to the meeting at lunch and sign up. Please bring your lunch and join us. 

BASEBALL

The St. Joe's baseball team put up a valiant fight against the mighty Sandwich Sabres, but despite solid efforts, were unable to defeat them.  

Special mention to gr. 9 rookie player Brayden Walls, who took to the pitching mound and stared down the giants, striking one of them out! 

The team continues to gel and is looking forward to their next home game at McAulliffe Park tomorrow after school. 

PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST

Larissa Dushime earned a spot in the provincial finals by placing FIRST in the Legion Public Speaking Contest on Saturday.  

Larissa's speech on the power of "I Am" wowed the judges and audience alike, bringing an inspiring message about the power of positivity.  

Congratulations Larissa and good luck in the finals!
