VALEDICTORIAN
This reminder is for all students who are graduating this year. If you are interested in being class valedictorian, please log on to Google Classroom and submit the nomination form by Friday, March 27th. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Flynn or Mr. Hind.

BATTERY DRIVE
Today is the last day to hand in your batteries and old electronics to be properly recycled by the Upcycled Climate Club.

EUROPE TRIP
Attention all Europe Travelers: There will be a very brief meeting in Room 201 at the beginning of lunch.

NEW YORK TRIP
Attention all New York Trip Students: There will be a very important meeting today at lunch in room 257.

COR RETREAT WEEKEND
Attention all Gr. 10, 11 and 12 students who signed up for the COR retreat on March 27th. The event has been postponed. There is no current date, but stay tuned to lasers news Instagram where we will post the new date.

MARCH BREAK BLOOD DRIVE
Attention students 17 and older: Canadian blood services need you (and your blood!). Please consider going into their donation centre over March break, located at 3909 Grand Marais East, to give the gift of life. Please see Maya Toma if you are interested or with any questions. 



UPCOMING SCHOLARSHIPS

Attention all potential graduates. Thousands and thousands of dollars are available just for you!!!! A new round of scholarships are now available for the months of March and April. Check out the guidance web page for further information or register with YCONIC, Scholartree or Scholarships Canada to view all scholarships available both locally and nationally.


UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR ESSAY CONTEST
This is information for graduating grade 12 students attending the University of Windsor. There is an essay contest and you are asked to write an essay on the topic "How might Religion/Spirituality be used to promote peace in the contemporary world?" The deadline is April 1. The prize is $300 and a plaque. More information can be found on the Literary Lasers board (2nd floor next to the elevator). See Dr. Brode in room 204 or 208 if you have any questions.

OUTSTANDING SCHOLARS
Attention all potential University of Windsor students. The Outstanding Scholars Applications are now available. The OS program is the opportunity to conduct research in partnership with a professor, outside the classroom. As full Scholars, students are paid to work in a research placement for up to six semesters. Applicants must have an average of 85% or higher and must complete their application no later than April 15th. For further information and links, go to the guidance homepage through your own St Joseph's portal, or you can speak with Dr. Brode in room 204 or 208.

DRAMA CLUB
This past week, the drama club competed in the National Theatre School Dramafest with two plays: "I Dream Before I Take the Stand" directed by Portia Piasentin, and "Not Merely an Emotion" written and directed by Isabella Gallucci. Unfortunately, neither play advanced to regionals, but Isabella Gallucci won an Award of Excellence for writing "Not Merely an Emotion", and Hannah Denome won an Award of Merit for acting as "She" in "I Dream Before I Take the Stand. Congratulations to all members of the drama club for your hard work and dedication these past few months, and for your excellent performances this week.
