MOCK TRIAL
There will be a brief, but important meeting for all students interested in participating in this year's mock trial competition today at lunch in room 257. What is a mock trial, you ask? It is an imitation trial where you get to take on the role of either a lawyer or a witness and compete against many other teams from the area.  No experience is necessary, you only need the willingness to try something new, the commitment to meet once a week and the desire to learn about the legal system and how trials work in a real courtroom setting. See you today at lunch in Room 257.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Students, are you looking for a "magical" volunteer opportunity? The Princess Ball of Essex-Kent is looking for student volunteers to assist with this event.  The Ball takes place on Saturday, January 26 from 12-4 pm.  There are numerous tasks that need to be filled by volunteers.  This event supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada.  If you are interested in more information please see Ms. Gilbert in the guidance office TODAY.

GIRLS HOCKEY
The girls hockey team lost a close game in heartbreaking fashion to St. Anne yesterday in Lakeshore. Tied 1-1 against a very good Saints squad, the home team scored just before the game was curfewed to steal the 2 points. Scoring for your St. Joe's team was Grade 9 Chantal Godin, with her first regular season goal as a Laser. Mikhayla Angeles was spectacular in net turning aside 38 of 40 shots and giving the team a chance to earn a point.

LASER NEWS
Attention to all Laser News team members, there will be a very important meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 212. It will take up the whole period, so please bring your lunch. Attendance is mandatory, so see you there! Again, there will be a Laser News team meeting at lunch TODAY in Room 212.

CHRISTMAS DONATIONS
Thank you to all of the homeroom classes who are providing Christmas gifts for people in need in our community. Just a reminder that all gifts are due to Campus Ministry by tomorrow.

GRADE WARS

A Grade War is a competition between all grades (Grades 9–12) that is based on school spirit. In order to get points for your grade, student council will be taking note of which grades have the most turnout at school events and the most enthusiastic at pep rallies. With volleyball and basketball games after school and the Concert band performing on Tuesday, December 11th, come out and cheer/support with your grade to earn points in our grade war competition.
