SCHOLARSHIPS
Win up to $22,500 in scholarships for writing and speaking!
Optimist International is sponsoring an essay and oratorical contest.
The theme of this year's essay contest is "Chasing Optimism in the Face of Challenges" and the topic for the speaking contest is "What the World Gains from Optimism."
Deadline for submission is Friday February 3rd. Please see Mrs. Koppeser for more information or an entry form.
YOUNG AUTHORS CONTEST
Calling all writers! The annual OECTA Young Authors contest is now inviting entries for short stories, poems and nonfiction pieces (essay, article or report).
Please see Mrs. Koppeser or your English teacher for an entry form.
All submissions must be received by Wednesday, February 8th to be eligible for the school judging.
Winners will receive cash prizes and have their work published in an anthology
SAFE SCHOOLS AWARD

Today is Bell "Let's Talk Day" For every text, call, tweet and instagram post, facebook video view and use of snapchat geofilter, Bell will contribute 5 cents more to mental health initiatives.
Let's all work together to raise money for mental health issues!
LOTTERY GOLD PLAN
Dress down for exams begins students who are on the lottery gold plan.
Students need to have their dress down pass given to them last week in order to be eligible for dressing down.
EXAMS
Tomorrow is the first day of semester one exams.
Make sure that you review all your notes, get plenty of rest and come to school prepared.
School begins at our normal time.
