CHALICE MAGAZINES
Good morning Lasers! Many of you received a magazine from the Chalice organization in your Period 1 class today. Please take it home to share with your families. There is so much need in the world and it would be wonderful to share the bounty and blessings of our Christmas Season with others in developing countries. Have a look through the magazine, see the simple needs of others, and perhaps let the spirit of charity touch your hearts
ST. JOE'S SPIRIT WEEK
Christmas is just around the corner Lasers and you know what that means! Student Council has put together our annual Christmas Spirit Week! It will be starting next Monday, December 16th until Friday, December 20th! It will be a full dress down for all students as long as they are following the correct themes for each day and are keeping their attire appropriate.
Our themes will include;
Monday: Ugly Christmas Sweater and festive socks
Tuesday: Santa's WorkShop or Red and Green Spirit Wear
Wednesday: Winter Wonderland (White, Blue and Silver)
Thursday: The Night Before Catholic Cup (Holiday Pyjamas)
Friday: Formal Dress and Spirit Wear (Blue and Yellow)
Not only will students be given the opportunity to dress down but Student Council also has fun activities planned throughout the week to keep our Christmas spirit alive! Stay tuned for more updates and make sure you are following both the SAC and Laser News Instagram for reminders!
DOOR DECORATING CONTEST
Today homeroom teachers should have received a rubric for this year's door decorating contest If you are choosing to participate with your class, please follow the criteria on the sheet! You have exactly 1 week! The doors will be judged during first period next Wednesday!
CANDY GRAMS
Want to let someone special know you care about them this holiday season? Student Councils got you covered! Starting Wednesday, December 11th student council will be selling Christmas Candy Grams for $1 each! Sales will take place during lunch in the atrium! There will be a limited amount sold and you won’t want to miss them! Sales will continue until next Tuesday, December 17th or while supplies last and will be delivered on Thursday, December 19th to homeroom classes!
ENGLISH CREDIT IN ENGLAND
Gr. 11's, this is a reminder that there will be an information meeting for any students who may have an interest over the summer in earning a grade 12, university English credit in the United Kingdom. The meeting is tonight at 7 pm at the WECDSB Board Office. For more information, pick up a flyer in guidance.
STAFF LUNCHEON
The hospitality class would like to welcome you to the December luncheon this Friday for our end of the semester meal. After Friday we will be closed until February. The price will be $8.00 and the menu is posted on the community website. Teachers give yourself a break and come on down and share some time with the rest of the staff, you will be surprised at all the new faces in our school who you have not met before.
CROSS COUNTRY
Attention all members of this year's cross country team. There is a meeting at lunch today in room 205.
GIRLS HOCKEY
Please dismiss members of the girl's hockey team after 3rd period today for their game in Leamington against Cardinal Carter. Thank you.
