GRADE 12s
Attention all grade 12's. Just a friendly reminder that many scholarships have due dates before the Christmas break including the Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarship, Scooters N Chairs Scholarship, 7BinaryOptions Scholarship Essay Contest and the Jetty Scholarship. For further information please check out the guidance web page or visit your friendly guidance counsellor. WINDSOR REGIONAL SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING FAIR
Any students interested in participating in the Windsor Regional Science Technology and Engineering Fair are asked to contact Mrs. Altenhof in Room 213.
The fair will take place in April 2020 at the University of Windsor.

 SPIRIT WEEK
Christmas is just around the corner Lasers and you know what that means! Student Council has put together our annual Christmas Spirit Week! It will be starting next Monday, December 16th until Friday, December 20th! It will be a full dress down for all students as long as they are following the correct themes for each day and are keeping their attire appropriate.

Our themes will include:
Monday: Ugly Christmas Sweater and festive socks
Tuesday: Santa's WorkShop or Red and Green Spirit Wear
Wednesday: Winter Wonderland (White, Blue and Silver) 
Thursday: The Night Before Catholic Cup (Holiday Pyjamas) 
Friday: Formal Dress and Spirit Wear (Blue and Yellow) 

Not only will students be given the opportunity to dress down but Student Council also has fun activities planned throughout the week to keep our Christmas spirit alive! Stay tuned for more updates and make sure you are following both the SAC and Laser News Instagram for reminders!

CANDY GRAMS
Just a reminder that Candy Grams will NOT be sold today due to the Leadership Bake Sale. Sales will resume on Friday and will go until next Tuesday, December 17th or while supplies last. The Candy Grams will be delivered on Thursday, December 19th to homeroom classes!

STAFF LUNCHEON
The hospitality class would like to welcome you to the December luncheon this Friday (tomorrow) for our end of the semester meal. After Friday we will be closed until February. Price will be $8.00 and the menu is posted on the community website. Teachers give yourself a break and come on down and share some time with the rest of the staff, you will be surprised at all the new faces in our school who you have not met before.

 SWIM TEAM
Attention members of swim team: Please email Miss Donais with the races you would like to swim and your seed time for each by the end of the day today. The results of this year's swim meets are posted on Google Classroom. You can use them to find your seed time. If you have any questions, please see Miss Donais.

FOOTBALL
To all football players who played this last season, there is an important information meeting in Mr Wilson's room 154 after school today.  Please be prompt.

 CROSS COUNTRY
For those cross country team members that didn't make the meeting yesterday, please see Mr. Strong or the group chat for info about this year's Christmas party. Please RSVP with Alex MacLellan because as we all know she is more responsible than Mr. Strong. We need to know who is going ASAP so let Alex know by tomorrow please.

 NEW YORK TRIP
There will be a very brief but important meeting for all those attending the NY trip tomorrow at lunch in room 257.

 LASER NEWS
There is a short but MANDATORY meeting today at lunch in room 258. Attendance will be taken so please let either Ms. Flynn or Alex know if you cannot make it. New members are always welcome, especially writers and those interested in covering Laser sport games.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
