Tuesday's Announcements

GRADE 10'S
The grade 10s will be taking a trip to the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills Michigan on June 11th. We have approximately 20 spaces left. The cost is $30 and permission forms and money will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Please see Miss Donais or Mr. Robillard for the forms.

MRS. FETTERS PERIOD 3 CLASS
Attention Mrs. Fetter's period 3 Leadership Class:
remember to check in at the Phys. Ed. Office at the start of lunch, for attendance, BEFORE leaving to LA Desmarais.
Also, bring your I.S.U. and Self-improvement Assignments to hand in as well.

APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY
If you are a graduating student and have an interest in a Tool and Die Apprenticeship, there is an opportunity waiting for you.  Manor Tool & Die, Sigma Engineering and Lakeshore Stamping of the Max Die Group are looking for young people interested in a career in the Tool and Die Industry.  If you would like to know more about this program please see Ms. Gilbert in guidance as soon as possible.  

BRYNE FOUNDATION BURSARY

Attention all graduating grade 12's!
The Byrne Foundation Bursary is due this week.
The Byrne Bursary Foundation was formed to assist local prospective post-secondary students who have limited financial resources due to the death of one or both parents.

BLOOD DONOR CLINIC

If you have signed up to travel to the Canadian Blood Services donor clinic on Thursday June 6, permission forms must be submitted to Ms. Flynn by Wednesday or you will not be able to attend. Slide them under the literacy office door if I am not in the room. If you can't attend, let Ms. Flynn know ASAP so we can fill your spot!

REMINDER FOR BLOOD DONORS ON THURSDAY

  1. If you have not done so yet, take the Eligibility Quiz  .Please note the waiting period 
  2. for tattoos and piercings is now only 3 months!
  3. Make sure you have a good meal before coming to donate.
  4. Limit yourself to one cup of coffee or tea the day of your donation.
  5. Drink LOTS of water the days leading up to and day of your donation and eat a salty snack just before donating !
  6. Remember to bring identification (your signed donor card or driver’s license) and a list of any medications you are taking (as well as why you are taking them). 


SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholar Tree has issued their latest and greatest list of scholarships that are available over the months of June, July and August. Some are for current graduates going into post-secondary education and some are for next year graduates.A list of these scholarships can now be found on the St Joseph’s Guidance portal or next to the bulletin board display in guidance.
