BLOOD DRIVE SIGN UPS
Give the gift of life on Friday, Feb 7! Signups are taking place all week in the atrium at lunch. 

WRITING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTESTS
Are you a writer or a public speaker? There are contests that you can enter that have monetary awards. At this time, students (in any grade) can submit a poem or story or non-fiction piece or play to the OECTA Young Author's Contest. More information can be found on the Literary Lasers Board upstairs next to the elevator. Or you can talk to Dr. Brode in room 208. The deadline is at the end of this month. The Optimist Club has two contests at this time and the deadline is Feb 5. There is an essay contest (up to 8oo words) and there is an oratorical speech contest (4 to 5 minutes) on the topic "Just iMagine a World without Boundaries." For more information, please speak to Dr. Brode in room 208.

EXAM MEDITATIONS
Did you know that mediation is known to improve anxiety, depression, stress, and boosts productivity? Come take anti-stress and anxiety meditations during lunch to help prepare for your exams!! They will be held by Mme Tomaselli’s grade 12 French Immersion students, Olivia and Sabrina in room 201. These sessions will take place today next Wednesday from 11:40 am - 12:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

HOMEWORK CLUB
This week's homework club will run in CORE services on Thursday from 3:00 to - 4:00.  Please be advised that the homework club will not be open Wednesday as we are opening it Thursday instead. If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Cabana in CORE services, room 151.


BOYS HOCKEY
Our boys lost their first league game of the season to St. Annes 4-3. Noah Morneau had 2 goals and Eric Degasparo had one. The team can now focus on upcoming exams and hopefully with a two week break our injured players will be ready to play St. Annes when we start up again Tuesday, February 4. There will be a mandatory team meeting with all players who have played this year in room 160 at lunch on Wednesday, January 22.

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER
There will be a brief but important meeting for any students interested in trying out for this year's Senior Boys Soccer team today at lunch in room 207.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
A big congratulations goes out to grade nine, Katherine Karon, who competed this past week at the National Figure Skating Championships in Mississauga. After performing her short and long programs, she placed 12th in the Novice Women category! Great job Katherine!
