POETRY IN VOICE

Our school Poetry in Voice contest is Thursday, December 15th.  

Poetry in Voice is a national poetry recitation contest where students choose a poem, learn it and recite it for a chance to qualify for a trip to the national finals and to earn cash prizes. 

Students in our school contest will be required to recite two poems, in English, French or both langugages, from the Poetry in Voice anthology.  

If you are not currently taking English, and would like to compete in this year's contest, please see Mrs. Koppeser for more information.  

The deadline to sign-up for the contest is Friday, December 2nd.

CHRISTMAS ARTS SHOWCASE

ATTENTION STUDENTS!

If you would like to sing, dance, or play an instrument for this year's Christmas Arts Showcase, please sign up on the drama room door ASAP.

The Christmas Arts Showcase will be on December 21, period 4 and December 22, period 1

Share your talents with the whole student body and bring some cheer to St. Joe's

HOMEWORK CLUB

Attention students!

If you are looking for a place to work on homework after school or a place to get some help with that homework?

Well look no further.... CORE services, room 151, is open after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Homework club runs from 3-4 on those 2 nights and all students are welcome.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Cabana or Mr. Castagna in room 151.

PRAISE TEAM

Please come and join us as we prepare the music for the upcoming Advent mass.

All members of the Praise Team, as well as any new students who would like to join us, are invited to rehearsals this week.

Rehearsals this week are on Tuesday and Thursday at lunch, in the chapel.  Please bring your lunch with you to the rehearsal.

If you are interested but are unable to come to the rehearsals this week, please see Mrs. Cabana in room 151

LASER FOOTBALL

A huge congrats goes out to Devon Thachuk and Brendan Thompson who were selected to the WECSSAA 2nd team All City football squad. 

Considering that they are in Gr 10 and 11 respectively, in a league dominated by 5th year players, that is a great accomplishment. 

Congrats guys!

LASER WRESTLING

6 wrestlers from St. Joe's attended an invitational meet on Saturday and performed honorably.  

Arnold Harmos and Jaxon Hornsey both came away with silver medals.
  
Great job Jaxson on your first wrestling meet ever!  

The next Tournament will be at Vista on DEC. 22.  

QUEBEC TRIP 

There will be a meeting in Room 202 at lunch ON WEDNESDAY for all students going to Québec in February.

If there are any French immersion or Core French students interested in going to Québec Winter Carnival, there are still some spots available!

Please see Mme Lage in Room 202.

TECH TEAM

There will be a tech team meeting in room 165 today at lunch.

SOCIAL JUSTICE
Attention all student who attended the Social Justice forum at the university of Windsor with Ms.Touma. We have a meeting today at lunch  in room 155. Please bring your lunch and join us.
