WRITING CONTEST

 The University of Windsor is sponsoring two writing contests, The W.O. Mitchell Entrance Prize in English Composition and the Homer F. Plante Creative Writing Awards, open to Grade 12 students in Windsor and Essex County.  Students are invited to submit up to five original works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry or drama to be eligible for prizes up to $1000.  The deadline for both contests is June 21st.  Please see the Literary Laser Board next to the elevator upstairs or Mrs. Koppeser for more information.
GRAD ASSEMBLY
All those involved with assisting with the Grad Assembly/Rose Ceremony please meet in Mr. Hind's room (161) today at lunch.  You must be there so we can go through the timeline and script.  Thank you. 

SUMMER SCHOOL

Students who have applied for a summer online course must check their email for an important message regarding the mandatory orientation process.

HALL OF FAME

Attention all Major award winners at the evening of excellence and the athletic banquet

Pictures for the hall of fame will take place on Monday June 19 in the gym.  Please be in the gym at 10pm for your photo.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Grant Zavitz Awards are presented to the male & female students that have made contributions to the community. The award is NOT an academic or an athletic award. It is based on the student’s community spirit within the school and how the student adds to the life of the school through volunteerism. Grades are not a consideration, but the candidates must demonstrate passing grades. Candidates are judged on how they performed during the 2016-2017 school year only. 
All candidates must submit their resumes by email to: coachcus@yahoo.com 
All entries must be received by midnight June 15th.

LASER LITERARY MAGAZINE

The Laser Literary magazine will be accepting pre-orders beginning today at lunch.  

If you are interested in purchasing a 56 page full colour magazine chalked full of our own Laser writers, poets and artists, then this message is for you!  

The price is $12 for each full colour magazine.

LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS CAN DRIVE DRESSDOWN Attention lasers! The STJustice Club would like to thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity in this year’s AM800 can drive, bringing the win with the most donations in all of Windsor-Essex. As promised, there will be a full dress down this Wednesday, January 18th.   DANCE TEAM A reminder to the dance team that we have a morning practice TOMORROW Jan 17th. WRESTLING TEAM The Laser Wrestling Team travelled to Sarnia to compete last Saturday. Bringing home Gold medals were Jaclyn Lacoboni and Daniel Piccolo, Silver medals were Joy Uchenna and David Ferro, and a Bronze medal was Evan Fransen. Anthony Mailloux took fourth place. Everyone fought well and fought hard. Despite his injury, Max Thibault demonstrated great composure and class, and showed everyone the fierce spirit of our school. If you see any of our wrestlers in the hallway, congratulate them and perhaps come out to support them at the next tournament this Saturday

 LASER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENTS QUEBEC TRIP Everyone who is going on the Quebec Trip, we will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room 203.  NEW YORK TRIP There will be a mandatory meeting for all those attending the New York trip tomorrow at lunch in room 261. Please bring your fundraiser order forms and money.  DRAMA SWAG  St. Joes Drama Community. Today is the last day to submit your money for this round of Drama t-shirt and hoodie orders. Please have your money in to the main office by the end of lunch today and make sure your order has been placed on our Google Classroom. Orders will go in today and are expected to arrive within a week.
