HEALTH AND WELLNESS SHSM
Attention Health and Wellness SHSM students... Mrs. Lalonde has sent you an email that you must reply to ASAP!! The new grade 11 members of the program need to stop by the PE office by Friday to order your hoodie.

CORE FRENCH HOODIES
Hi, Lasers! Are you in grades 9 through 12 core french first or second semester? We will now have Laser Français hoodies available for purchase starting tomorrow. These hoodies will count as Friday spirit wear. If interested in purchasing a hoodie please come see Mademoiselle Lapico in room 203 for more details. 

COATS FOR KIDS
Each year, before the snow begins to fall, our community rallies together to collect as many gently used coats, hats, and mitts as possible for anyone in Windsor & Essex County who is in need. Our Social Justice Club invites you to support this great cause by bringing any donations of gently used coats, hats or mitts to the Chapel by Friday, October 25. 

HOUSE OF COMMONS RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN
This opportunity is available to all future graduating grade 12 students who maintain a minimum average of 80% and can speak both official languages. To be selected, you must also be accepted into a full-time programme at a university in the National Capital Region. If you are interested, the House of Commons is accepting applications no later than Monday, November 11th of this year and successful candidates will be awarded a one year contract beginning August 2020. HOTEL DIEU GRACE HEALTH CARE
Are you 15-19 years old and looking to have an impact in your community? Consider joining Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Youth Advisory Council.  No experience is necessary.  Applications are due Oct. 16th at 6:00 pm.  Contact Peggy O'Kane at 519-257-5111 ext. 73935 or follow the link provided on the Volunteer Page of the Laser Portal to sign up.

OPTIMIST CLUB HALLOWEEN PARTY
The Optimist Club of Forest Glade is looking for volunteers for their annual Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, Oct. 26th at Forest Glade Community Center anytime between 1:30-8:30.  Help is needed for set up, registration, kitchen help, craft and raffle table, handing out candy apples, cotton candy/popcorn area, and clean up.  For more information, click on the volunteer button on the guidance portal, visit the volunteer board in the guidance office, or call/email Barbara at 519-979-6118/matis@mnsi.net.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Students, a member of the Forest Glade community is looking for a student to help with some lawn care and leaf raking.  This would be a great way to earn your service hours.  If interested, see Ms. Gilbert in guidance.

CURLING
If you are interested in joining the curling team, please sign up in room 202 this week. No experience required! There will be a signup sheet posted outside the door. Curling begins October 21st.

FOOTBALL
Attention Sports Fans: start planning your rides now! The Senior Football Team is taking on Riverside High School @ Riverside this Thursday! The game starts at 3:00 pm, so try to carpool and get over to Riverside right after school. It should be a great game!

DRAMA CLUB
If you are a senior student who was a member of last year's Drama Club, please see Mrs. D’Alimonte in the Drama room at lunch today. Thank you. 

GSA
Our GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) meets today, in the chapel, at lunch. If you’re interested in learning more about the LGBT+ community, or just want to support, feel free to stop by. 

MODEL UN DEBATE TEAM
Attention All Students: There is a meeting for the Model UN Debate Team today at lunch in room 155. Anyone wanting to do the G7 Summit Debate Friday, October 18, 2019, MUST attend this meeting. Those students who do not attend this meeting will not have their names submitted to take part in the G7 debate. Please see Ms. Touma in room 155 with any questions or concerns you may have.

SOCIAL JUSTICE
There is a mandatory social justice meeting today at lunch in room 257. All are welcome!

LASER NEWS
There is a laser news meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 258. New members are always welcome, especially students interested in writing!

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY YOUTH TROOP
Are you interested in raising awareness about Cancer in our school community? If you do, consider signing up for the student-run 'St. Joe's YOUTH TROOP'! To learn more about this exciting opportunity, there will be a meeting in room 202 at lunch on Thursday. See you there!
