MENTAL HEALTH DAY
Social Justice will be running a mental health booth today at lunch. Feel free to stop by the booth and join us in raising awareness for mental health.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS SHSM

Attention Health and Wellness SHSM students... Mrs. Lalonde has sent you an email that you must reply to ASAP !! Also, new grade 11 members of the program need to stop by the PE office by Friday to order your hoodie.

CORE FRENCH HOODIES

Attention all Lasers in Core French first and second semester. Laser Français hoodies are now available for purchase this week and next week only. These hoodies are considered Friday spirit wear. Come see Mademoiselle Lapico in room 203 for more details.

STAFF LUNCH

This is a reminder to all staff members that our monthly buffet will be featured in the staff room today for $8.00.

COATS FOR KIDS
Our Social Justice Club invites you to support this great cause by bringing any donations of gently used coats, hats or mitts to the Chapel by Friday, October 25.

HOUSE OF COMMONS RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN

This opportunity is available to all future graduating grade 12 students who maintain a minimum average of 80% and can speak both official languages. To be selected, you must also be accepted into a full-time programme at a university in the National Capital Region. If you are interested, the House of Commons is accepting applications no later than Monday, November 11th of this year and successful candidates will be awarded a one year contract beginning August 2020. For further information go to ourcommons.ca/page or check out the bulletin board display in the guidance office.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Students, a member of the Forest Glade community is looking for a student to help with some lawn care and leaf raking.  This would be a great way to earn your service hours.  If interested, see Ms. Gilbert in guidance.

HOTEL DIEU GRACE HEALTH CARE
Are you 15-19 years old and looking to have an impact in your community? Consider joining Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Youth Advisory Council.  No experience is necessary.  Applications are due Oct. 16th at 6:00 pm.  Contact Peggy O'Kane at 519-257-5111 ext. 73935 or follow the link provided on the Volunteer Page of the Laser Portal to sign up.

SWIM TEAM
Anyone who is interested in joining swim team and has not signed up yet can sign up on the window outside room 254. Our first practice is this Tuesday, October 15 at the WFCU from 3:15-4:30. See Miss Donais with any questions.

FOOTBALL
Attention Sports Fans: start planning your rides now! The Senior Football Team is taking on Riverside High School @ Riverside today The game starts at 3:00 pm, so try to carpool and get over to Riverside right after school. It should be a great game! 

CURLING TEAM
To all students who have signed up for the 2019-2020 CURLING season ... There will be a brief but mandatory meeting in room 202 at lunch, on Wednesday, October 16. All players must attend this meeting.

LASER NEWS
There is a laser news meeting today in room 258. We are always looking for new members are currently in need of more writers. If you are interested in writing about current events, sports, clubs and other events at the school, please come check us out in room 258.

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY YOUTH TROOP
Are you interested in raising awareness about Cancer in our school community? Please sign up for the student-run 'St. Joe's YOUTH TROOP'! To learn more about this exciting opportunity, there will be a meeting in room 202 at lunch on Thursday. See you there!
