Monday's Announcements

SAULT COLLEGE, FANSHAWE COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR
Grads, the following schools will be in the atrium, at lunch this week... Today, October 28th, Sault College is here and on October 31st Fanshawe College will be here.  Also, the University of Windsor Fall Open House is Saturday, November 2 from 10am to 4pm.  It is recommended that you register on-line for this event.

LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found items are accumulating in the Attendance Office.  There are articles of clothing, water bottles, notebooks.  If you lost something, please check out the lost and found in the Attendance Office.  Anything not claimed by the end of the month will be donated to charity.

SHAD
This message is for all gr. 10 and 11 students who have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math.  SHAD is an enrichment and entrepreneurship program that empowers high school students to recognize their own capabilities and envision their extraordinary potential as tomorrow’s leaders and change-makers. At SHAD participants live at a host university campus outside of their hometown for the month of July. Upon completion of the program, you will become a lifelong member of the impressive SHAD network. You will also receive the SHAD Fellow designation, which is recognized and valued by universities, scholarship providers and employers. If you would like to know more about this amazing opportunity please see Ms. Gilbert in guidance.  The deadline to apply is November 19.  The application is lengthy, so please do not wait until the last minute.

BLOOD DRIVE
A reminder that today is the last day to sign up for the blood drive taking place on October 30th! Sign-ups are taking place in the atrium. Reminder you must be 17 years or older to donate!

BOO GRAMS
Do you have a boo this Halloween? Well if not student council is giving you a chance to make a move! Purchase a BOO gram in the laser box starting Monday, October 28th until October 30th! Each gram will be $1 for a bundle and will be delivered during second period on Halloween!

COATS FOR KIDS
Each year, before the snow begins to fall, our community rallies together to collect as many gently used coats, hats, and mitts as possible for anyone in Windsor & Essex County who is in need. Our Social Justice Club invites you to support this great cause by bringing any donations of gently used coats, hats or mitts to the Chapel by Tuesday, October 29th.


ROSARY
The St. Joe's Rosary club meets every Monday at lunch and every Friday in the morning in the chapel. This Wednesday, September 30th, we are kicking off with Rosary making after school in the chapel, All are welcome to join, we hope to see you there! God bless! 

CROSS COUNTRY
Cross country team members please return your washed jerseys toMr. Strong or Ms. Flynn ASAP. Also, if you ordered a cross country long sleeve shirt, please see Mr. Strong, with your money, to pick it up. 

SWIM TEAM
Would the following students who signed up for swim team please see Ms. Donais in the cafeteria during the first half of lunch: Annika Koppeser, Emma Walker, Alana McIntyre, Sawyer, and Kaitlyn Palameta.

GIRLS HOCKEY
Attention all girls trying out for the Girls Hockey team.... this week's tryout has been moved from Wednesday to today. Same time, same arena. If you are still interested in trying out and playing for St. Joe's this year, please see Mr. Kittl in the attendance office.

FOOTBALL
Attention Lasers: it's time for our last football game of the regular season! It will be on Halloween, right after school. That's this coming Thursday! The location is Vista Academy @ 4 o'clock. Please consider sharing rides to come out and support our seniors' last high school football game. The players would sure appreciate some fan support!

WRESTLING
Wrestlers look healthy, fit and muscular because of the way they train. There will be a meeting at lunch on Friday in Room 159. Practices will begin next week. You can train this Sunday with two-time Olympic and six-time world champion Sergei Beloglazov. Sign up on the bulletin board list by the PhysEdchangerooms, or speak with Mr. Menard or Mrs. Carpio-Sementilli for more information.
