HONOURS RECOGNITION CEREMONY
Any students who did not attend the Honours Recognition Ceremony please see Ms. M. Marra receive your Certificate.  Please come to room 157 at the beginning of lunch.

BLOOD DRIVE
Sign-ups for this year's blood drive will take place all week in the atrium at lunch. Reminder you must be 17 years or older to donate!

CORE FRENCH HOODIES
Attention all Lasers in Core French first and second semester. Laser Français hoodies are now available for purchase this week and week next only. These hoodies are considered Friday spirit wear. Come see Mademoiselle Lapico in room 203 for more details. 

COATS FOR KIDS
Each year, before the snow begins to fall, our community rallies together to collect as many gently used coats, hats, and mitts as possible for anyone in Windsor & Essex County who is in need. Our Social Justice Club invites you to support this great cause by bringing any donations of gently used coats, hats or mitts to the Chapel by Friday, October 25. 

HAROLD HEWITT SCHOLARSHIP
The Harold Hewitt Scholarship is now available and is valued at $ 2 000 and an essay of no more than 250 words is required. This year's question is  “You are a superhero and you have to use your powers to make a positive change in the world. What powers do you have and how would you use them?” For further information go to https://www.wfcu.ca/Personal/ or check out the scholarship links through the Guidance website on the St Joe's Portal. If you have any further questions, feel free to come by the Guidance Office and the Guidance team would be more than happy to help! The deadline for this scholarship is November 1st!

HOTEL DIEU GRACE HEALTH CARE
Are you 15-19 years old and looking to have an impact in your community? Consider joining Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Youth Advisory Council.  No experience is necessary.  Applications are due Oct. 16th at 6:00 pm.  Contact Peggy O'Kane at 519-257-5111 ext. 73935 or follow the link provided on the Volunteer Page of the Laser Portal to sign up.

SENIOR CITIZEN TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
For any students needing volunteer hours, there is a senior citizen technology/activity program beginning in the fall that is looking for high school students to help run. CURLING TEAM
To all students who have signed up for the 2019-2020 CURLING season ... There will be a brief but mandatory meeting in room 202 at lunch today. All players must attend this meeting.

BOYS HOCKEY
Attention seniors boys who will be playing in the alumni game. There will be a very brief meeting in room 160 today. Mr. Sok's would like to see Brady Kaylyn, Trevor Heslop, Micheal Flay, Gabe Piccolo, Cadyn Anderson, Eric DeGasparo, Joel Kearns, and Keegan Calic. Also, we will have our first tryout on Tuesday, October 22. There will be a $10 fee for every tryout session. This is a full equipment practice and will start 3:30 pm.

GIRLS HOCKEY
Attention all girls who are interested in playing for the St. Joe's girls hockey team. Our first try out is Wednesday, October 16th at 3:20 at the WFCU Centre. Please bring your 10 dollars to the session. If you have not signed up yet, you can do so at the arena. We are looking for more skaters in Grades 9 and 10 who may be interested in playing.

SLAM POETS PRACTICE
There is a Mandatory Slam Poets rehearsal today at lunch in Room 206.  The following students are to report there as promptly as possible: Alexandria Maclellan, Keagan Yap, Christina Blanc, and Rebecca Asante.  Please bring your printed copies of the poem. 

GSA


Our GSA, Gay-Straight Alliance group is meeting today in the chapel at lunch. Everyone is welcome to join us.
